OMORI Pink Tinted Love is a short but adorable mod with no combat, or huge stakes… that ships Sunny and Aubrey together. I didn’t know what to expect from a story like this at first and considering it was dealing with shipping I thought it’d feel way too fan fiction-y for me to take seriously… while there definitely are moments where Pink Tinted Love veers too much in the direction of headcanon and sometimes even the super natural… like a talking ghost, it is for the most part a well written and surprisingly faithful adaptation of these characters and demonstrates the creators understanding of base OMORIs writing style. I played through the whole thing on stream and took my time trying to find all optional dialogue and in this story.

i know it’s a very minor detail but i’m kinda sad that they didn’t censor the kiss the same way they did in the scene after the sweetheart fight. I guess it could be seen as like a nod to how Sunny is becoming more “tuned in” to reality but come on it would’ve been such a good way to make a running gag. this is just me being nitpicky though, this mod is adorable

Personally, I interpreted it as Basil in this mod being bi. You can sort of vaguely interpret that from (iirc) a line of dialog where Basil talks about how he's "never felt that way about a girl before", which I take to mean that Basil _thought_ he was just gay until recently. Probably a bit of a leap in logic but I think it works well enough. It certainly makes more sense than Basil just straight up being straight.

not really, sunflower has a large basis of plausibility in the game and the ending implies they're on the course of mending their friendship, kim and basil meanwhile have nothing going on in canon besides one being awful towards the other

I feel like it would be highly unlikely to realistically work out for either, as both partners are tied to trauma. However, I feel as though sunflower is more likely as the good end showcases Sunny smiling at Basil, and his overall mental attitude towards Basil during the finale is positive. Kim, however, had no problem with just bullying Basil out of nowhere, over something that she didn’t even fully understand.

not really a crack lmao wdym what you're saying is under the scenario of a photobomb ship. kim doesn't have anything very personal against basil, all of her doing during the events of the game was just to defend aubrey since it's her best friend, and aubrey has much more personal vendetta against basil since she thought he was a "creep" and a "weirdo" for apparently scribbling the photo album, that's why she bullies him repeatedly and kim just lets it be, like some sort of an anger management. if aubrey manages to warm up with basil, so will kim and the hooligans, but i acknowledge it will take a long time for basil to find something in common with kim if they even end up together
