I'll always have a soft spot for my 180cfx. Learned so much on it. Loved the way it flew. I always felt it flew better than my oxy 2 helis and my omp m2. It just had a great feel to it that's hard to describe.

Great choice! I love the Blade 150S helis -- perfect size and behavior for the type of front yard flying that I like to do. In any case, many people report that the 150S seems to have more "pop" than the 230.

Thanks for the comparison. I've been thinking about getting a 180cfx because of the driven tail, but its probably too big for my area. All of my brushless tailed micros have been terrible. I sold my Blade 130S before I crashed it too much. I finally got my M1 feeling ok (but still not right, almost too robotic but too loose also) by lowering the cyclic gains to 1. My Trex150X drifts like it's on ice, its uncontrollable. It flys fine in stability mode but 3d mode is all over. I went thru all my settings from scratch tonight, so hopefully it flys better tomorrow. I have an old 130x and it's about the biggest I can go with in my yard, but those tail gears are hard to come by. It flys great I did my first almost tick-tock with it, lol. My little XK K110s are great too. I put bigger tail motors and 65mm props on shorter booms and they fly much better. If I can't sort out my 150x and M1 I may end up selling them, they feel like they have a lot of potential though.

Sorry to hear that you've been having all that trouble with such great models! In any case, I recommend going with the Blade 150S -- it's a great helicopter, and it's no bigger than the 180CFX. I worry that tail parts for the 180CFX are going to get harder & harder to find.

@@navigator2011 I just flew my Trex 150X and it's awesome now, after setting it up again. I got it used so it may have been out of whack. I think I'll lower the agility settings on my M1 and see if that helps make it feel better. I may look for something that uses the same 2s 350mah batteries as my 2s helis. I like that I can use the same batteries for my 130x, 150x, and M1.

@@navigator2011 thanks for the suggestion. I had considered it but the price seemed so high but 62 grams AUW is great though, just a little heavier than my K110s. I honestly like the linear servos on my NanoCPS and 130X too. If my M1 doesn't feel right after a couple more adjustments it's going on Ebay for an mCPX BL2. I'll sell it before I crash it too much, and bend something. The low sleek design is cool, but I find the M1 harder to follow than my tiny Nano. Even if I do get the settings the way I want them I'll never truly like flying it I think.

This video was very helpful. Thanks for posting this. I'm pretty inexperienced with RC helis. I've been flying the XK K110 and am ready for the next step. I'm considering the M1 or M2 but wonder if they are too powerful for someone at my skill level.
@navigator20112 жыл бұрын
My recommendation is the M1, just tone down the performance as desired. The M2 is quite a big jump up from the K110 in size and performance. You might also thing about the Align T15 or the Eachine E150.

Hi, is the blade nano S3 ok to fly in same space suited to M1?
@navigator20112 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, the Blade Nano S3 can be flown in smaller, more confined spaces than the M1. The M1 is much more powerful than the Blade Nano S3!

I have a M1 and it’s freaking awesome. If I had to choose between a Trex 150x, Blade 150s or a M2. Which one would you choose?
@navigator20113 жыл бұрын
Well, that's a tough question because all three helis perform very well but each has unique attributes: the Trex 150X is great for super small flying areas, the Blade 150S is a great training helicopters that can take a beating, and the M2 is a very high quality 200-size helicopter with unusually-awesome tail performance. If I was limited to choosing only one, the hard part would be anticipating my future needs. Right now, almost all my time is being spent practicing new moves on the Blade 150S, but I always envisioned migrating to the M2 when the crashing becomes less common. But if I had to choose only now and forever, I would likely spring for the M2 due to its performance and quality. But, then again, I like that the Blade 150S weighs less than 250 grams. So, yeah, this is a tough question. This may be where the M1 fits in -- it's small, lightweight, and performs excellently!
@extractpaintball67213 жыл бұрын
@@navigator2011 Thanks for the reply. I really like how the M1 can also take a beating. There were several times when I can pick it up after it crashed and it would still fly. Based on your reply I might be leaning towards the 150s.
@navigator20113 жыл бұрын
@@extractpaintball6721 I doubt the 150S will do anything more for than the M1. In my case, I had the 150S for about a year before the M1 became available. So, I was already pretty invested into the 150S and Fusion 180 ecosystem, as it were. But if you're already flying, crashing and repairing the M1, I would think the cost of the 150S can buy a lot of parts for the M1, lol. Just a thought, I know it's also fun to buy new helis!

@@navigator2011 How is the flight characteristics between the M1, M2 and 150s? Does the M1 and M2 feel the same? How does it compare to the 150s?
@navigator20113 жыл бұрын
@@extractpaintball6721 I do think the M1 and M2 fly similarly, except for the size difference. The 150S seems like a slower heli, and thus the 150S tends to be easy to practice new maneuvers without the heli trying to dart away. But, again, I was heavily into the 150S before getting the M1 and M2. I'm just keeping the M1 and M2 helis pristine until I'm happy with my skills on the 150S, then I'll make a migration over to the M1 and M2.

Nice. I got the xk k110 and now ordered the M1. More Power and better tail hold. Probabaly more stable and takes wind a litte better. Im scared of my trex 450. Need lots of space and expensive to crash. People tolerate the micro helis to fly everywere. No so scary
@navigator20113 жыл бұрын
Yep, I know how you feel. I started out with a Trex 450 Pro, and my progress didn't go far beyond hovering for fear of crashing. I'm sure things we've gone better at a flying field, but I don't have a large field nearby. Best thing I ever did in this hobby was to start over with a Blade Nano CPS! I hear the XK K110 is even better -- just keep hammering on the fundamentals.

@@navigator2011 "just keep hammering on the fundamentals": any suggestion for training material? Videos / blogs / whatever you recommend? I can just about do flips with my nano CPS, but didn't dare yet with my M1. Not enough space here...

@@jeroenbaekelandt2424 Definitely visit Helifreak's "From tail-in to all 8s and funnels in 6 months," www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=531380 If you're just starting flips with the Nano CPS, then I recommend not trying yet with the M1 (I mean, unless you want to repair it a lot). My Nano CPS and Nano S2 did a great job teaching me how to flip and fly around inverted, but my Nanos took a beating in the process! I didn't switch away from the Nanos until most crashes were due to limitations in the heli's performance instead of my skills. At that point, I jumped to an Align Trex-150X. After putting the 150X through the wringer for a few months, I discovered that I could comfortably fly bigger helis too. By that time, crashing was an exception and not the rule, so flying nicer helis wasn't as scary as before. Now, with all that said, another line of thought is to forget about the Nanos and instead concentrate on learning with the M1. This approach has some merit because the M1 doesn't have a bunch of annoying quirks and isn't going to have tail blow-outs and brushed motors burning out, among other things. But, the M1 can be more intimidating, collisions will cause damage, it belongs outside for sure, and it will be more involved to repair after crashing. And, yes, you will crash a lot! So, yes, I generally recommend mastering the Nanos before you upgrade. But this is meant to be a fun hobby, and so these choices are up to each individual.
