I have 2 liberty v Nichols over a hundred years ago if I sent you a picture can you tell me what they are worth and also I have several 2 dollar bills I collect them

As a small child… 4-5 yr old, I found a baby food jar that my Dad had hidden in the kitchen cabinet’s, it had old steel Pennie’s and Buffalo nickels and mercury dimes. Dad never said “Don’t touch this these are special”… so when I found it, I thought I could go to the store and buy bubble gum (early 1960’s ). Fast forward 30+ years later I was collecting my own coins and found where a few Steel Pennie’s and rare Buffalo nickels were worth quite a pretty penny and have always wondered if I squandered away a small fortune… Always good to tell your children about collector items and also about greed!
@bite-sizedshorts963510 ай бұрын
A silver dime could buy a loaf of bread back then. I know because I did it. Based on the price of silver right now, you can sell an ordinary silver dime and buy a loaf of bread with the proceeds. Steel pennies were the common variety. If there was a real copper one from the same year, it would be worth a lot. So the silver dimes probably would outvalue everything else in the jar.

I have a two dollar bill that was given to me by the secretary of the treasury when I was a freshman in college in 1974. It has been folded several times but you know what I don’t care that means all your little criteria it’s still special to me. It’s even signed by the lady. She came to our university she was promoting I don’t know hot but we all were given a two dollar bill. I asked her if she would sign it and she said well I already have but I’ll sign it again and she did. So my two dollar bill has her signature twice one printed on the bill and one written on the bill. Any upset might not meet your criteria of being folded because it’s been folded up in my jewelry box for many years!

I was a teenager in the 70’s and had received a $20 bill in change, along with other bills. At a later date, I used that bill to pay for my purchase and suddenly I was accused of submitting counterfeit money and they were threatening to call the police. I offered to write a check but they refused and said I had committed a crime. I had noticed it was a $20 but didn’t pay much attention and since I didn’t have another to compare it with, didn’t notice it was different. Cooler heads and probably better aware prevailed, and I was allowed to go. Apparently, it was a $20 silver certificate, so the other alert employee at the store realized it and swapped it out and probably profited from it as it was crisp. After that, I paid more attention to my change other than the amount.

I have a 1965, 6 or 7 quarter where the last 2 digits of the date are misprinted - it shows only the "19" and there is a blob over the last 2 digits. How do I know it is 1965 to 67? Because I found it in 1967 and it is a copper-clad quarter. They only started minting copper-clad coins in 1965; hence, it has to be one of those first 3 years. I showed it to my mom and she took it, and I soon forgot about it. When my mom passed away, and then my dad years later, we found it again, and I now have it back in my possession. Is something like this worth something?

I have a $2 bill with four number 3’s on it, series 1976 and the letter C from the bank of Philadelphia. The serial number starts with C. It has a D2 in the top left and aD4 in the bottom right. Is this an average bill or should I take care of it? Thanks.

I remember when if you took a guided tour of the US Treasury the small gift shop offered a "sheet" of 3 uncut 2 dollar bills. The were in a folder with a bunch of history on the note. I thibk it was about ten bucks.

I’ve always kept my $2 bills. I’ve got a few from 2013, some from 1995, and some from 1976 for some reason. (I was born in 1982). They are all badly folded and used. The ones from 1976 will have some random number written on it with pen. One of those even has a bright purple stamp that reads USPO July 4 1976. I guess the post office was having fun that centennial. I dunno.

@@jaymartell2967yeah, just not real sure why they did it though. Was it all post offices? Just some rando working that day? I mean, it looks like the stamp used to post mark mailing stamps after use. Does it give the bill any more value? Less?

Back in 2002 working in a casino. Guy comes in, sits at my table with $100. The old style looking. I mark it with a bill checker. Turns jet black (counterfeit). I call my supervisor over. Tell him what's up. He goes to the phone and calls security over, call surveillance and my table comes to a complete haul. This man gets detained by FBI. ATF shows up and interigates him. Said he got it from his grandma! After all said and done it was a 1940's silver mint certificate. He had more than one on him and was headed to some unknown off grid detention something I am sure! I learned it was so rare after a few days went by and why. Also, learned he had stolen them from his g-ma! But, I recall thinking to myself....damn and I just put a huge black slash right threw the center of it and made it worthless except the face value of $100!!

I have 3 $2 Federal Reserve Notes. They are in series. They were purchased in 1979 at the Post Office in Ho olulu, Hawaii. They have a 13 cent stamp and hand cancelled by the Post Master. They do not have any creases and are sealed in a plastic sleeve. 1976 series... My question is... Because there is a hand stamped postage stamp do they have any value?
