Maybe a faulty ESC with a crappy BEC that isn't supplying enough power to your servos. It works when you move 1 or 2 servos but when you have them all going, the power drops and you loose signal that way, I've had a brown out like this befoe on a smaller model. I changed the ESC and it worked perfectly.
@ptaylor50144 жыл бұрын
This might be the same problem i sometimes experience when flying my Volantex Phoenix V2, when using more than 50% throttle and using the control surfaces it randomly causes loss of control like i can't turn or pitch, after a few seconds i have control again and luckily on these occasions i have been over 60m high.

FYI I always do a range check on first flight with new model with power on and walk 360 around plane.

Capt Blaz, I began flying rc gliders back in the 80s. I got back into it 2 years ago....and everything had changed. I purchased 2 beautiful balsa models and proceeded to smash them to bits 🤕. I was embarrassed to get the FT foam board models, however crashing a $30 foam plane hurts far less then crashing a $200 balsa plane. So the moral of the story is flying a cheap plane can be more enjoyable than a work of art. Because if you crash....who cares ?!?!?! But if you crash dis beautiful plane then we will all be sick.🤒 so great job landing this plane. Giant RC salute from California. Maybe try a dedicated battery for the servos

Need to walk around when you do a range test brother! Range test at that angle may have been perfect, but you could have a blind spot caused by phasing/polarisation of the radio signal, could be something like a carbon fibre spar getting in the way. With OpenTX enabled radios with SD cards, turn on data logging too, then when you get home you get an affirmative answer as it data logs the RSSI and stick inputs. Though do try the spektrum too, I had problems with my TRI-40 and the taranis x9d and going to try the spektrum now and see how it goes (when the weather cooporates) as I learned on the spektrum (I find on the taranis i can't find the bloody trim switches!!!), it sucks because I love the customisability of the open tx (my radio even swears at me if I get the battery too low 🤣) but hate the feel and balance of the radio. Much love and well thoughts from Australia! Stay safe and healthy! **salutes**

Good morning Robert and Captain Blaž, I love your channel. I switched from Spektrum to FrSky (QX7s) and I never want to do without telemetry again. During the range test, I can read the signal strength (dBm) that is arriving at the receiver on the transmitter and use this to calculate the range. In flight I can display and announce the signal strength and with additional sensors the Lipo voltage, Lipo current, altitude, speed and speed over the ground etc.. In particular, I would not want to do without the warning of too low signal strength and low battery voltage. Many greetings and good luck !

My little experience that signal loss happens when an antenna bothers the other. Happens even if one is not functional. As of shown they're in a counter-phase position , you should do a test putting the two antennas at less then 90 degrees to each other's length and point the tip of the working one at the plane. then literally circling around the plane hunting for disconnections. Love!

@@BlažPetrinčič Exactly what I thought , the antenna you didn't use had plus or minus the same coil (in the other use transmits same frequency , only different protocol) which , pointed in the opposite direction made as an absorber or as a screen for the one in order of work. from what I observed indeed the airplane lost transmission only when both antennas were parallel to the airplane route. When you *majestically* managed to emergency land the airplane was faithfully listening commands most surely because the working antenna was pointed towards the plane. Let me know if this helped mate. Salute!

Since then I fly only original Spektrum Rx and only Rx with satellite like AR6210 or AR8000 or newer AR8010T. For small planes I used to install AR610. The RANGE test was always the "must do" thing before the first flight. These are great and I have never had a single problem using them. ;)

Go with either FrSky+Crossfire module or Spektrum ix12+ a Crossfire module, crossfire which uses 900mhz is one of the most robust links out there right now with very long range the reason I say ix12 is because I think that you can easily switch back to 2.4ghz if you want to fly 2.4ghz bind and fly planes.
