OMSI 2 | Arkala Beta | *JANUARY UPDATE* | My Last Drive In This Enviro400 MMC

Hello and welcome to another OMSI 2 video!
Today is a rather sad occasion as it will be my final drive with this version of the Enviro400 MMC. Since it graced OMSI in early 2020, the MMC has been a firm fan favourite! Alas with a new version on the horizon (which i've driven and it's brilliant!) I think a last hurrah in this version is necessary.
And what better map to give it a send off on?! Today we're driving the full route 63 from Pendle station, through to Arkala (Stockton Row), seeing the many updates that have been brought to the map! Unfortunately i've always struggled with FPS in this version of the MMC, so every now and then there's the odd lag spike... and a sim crash which we won't dwell on, but all in all it's an absolutely fantastic drive!

The thing with the indicators is something that happens normally with incandescent bulbs, the relays were designed so they would speed up when the load dropped if one of the incandescent bulbs failed to indicate the issue to the driver. Since these buses use LEDs controlled by microprocessors that would not happen, in the event any light module was to fail you would get a warning message on the display. The only reason why it still happens in OMSI is because the game is simulating how one of the original MAN buses would have behaved.

I'm just waiting for the time when SP give Joe the heads up of reviewing the new Enviro 400MMC, and I hope they've made new sounds and remodelled it again, and also 😀 a Hybrid variant too, plus i would love if Masterswitch or Studio Polygon to make a Enviro 400 (Not the MMC) because the one we have now like the C400R and C400 London those two are so plane and lack of attention to detail which makes me very frustrated, so I would suggest either MS or SP to make the Enviro 400 (Not the MMC) because there my favourite buses first of all, and they have this very charming feeling about them too, and dont forget the amount of specifications and engine types they had too as well.

When the ticket machine shows +2 is that two minutes late like it normally is in OMSI? From what I have seen Almex display it the opposite way around, I don't know why. Although those Almex machines did not seem to last long with First Manchester since they replaced them with Ticketer not long after they got them.

You using BCS? Its normall for it to happen like a error with the bus ect to make it realistic I think. Just spawn a new bus or leave BCS and rejoin

After driving MMCs in real life this is really close, the only things I can see that’s a bit off is the sound, gear changes and interlock, in real life you’d have to wait for the door to close and the press the brake before you can move off

That is a setting to turn on or off with the door but yeah the gear changes arent great.

That is correct yes, it's currently in private beta stage. I do normally make a point of mentioning that in the videos so I apologise if I forgot!

1:08:58 I would have to disagree with that. The E400 could do with a remaster along maybe with a couple of engine additions (ISC 8.3L and ISB 4.5L Hybrid) but if it is going to be a new model why not let something different have the spotlight. I would suggest something different that isn't in OMSI yet like a Palatine, where you could have a whole load of different variants with there being Volvo and Leyland chassis possible (like how there are multiple chassis options with the G3) along with multiple different engine and gearbox configurations made from the same model with just two dashboards. You could have: Leyland Olympian - Gardner 6LXB (Voith/ZF) Leyland Olympian - Cummins L10 (Voith/ZF) Volvo Olympian - Cummins L10 (Voith/ZF) Volvo Olympian - Volvo TD102KF (ZF) Volvo Olympian - Volvo D10A (Voith/ZF) Or maybe even... Volvo Olympian - Cummins ISC/6CT (Voith) (Stagecoach retrofit) With a few more dash and exterior mods... Dennis Dominator - Gardner 6LXB (Voith) Scania N113DRB - Scania DS11 (???) Or perhaps even an Alexander PS as you could have at least six configurations of engine/gearbox with the Volvo B10M. Volvo B10M MK3 - Volvo THD101GD (Voith/ZF) Volvo B10M MK4 - Volvo THD102KF (Voith/ZF) Volvo B10M MK4 - Volvo DH10A (Voith/ZF)

the wheel is so realistic my guy but the ticket machine isn't so can u tell them to make it more realistic other than that everything else is good except the engine sound also when u stop u should switch the bus off cos that is what bus drivers in Manchester do irl so plz the next time u have this bus do that plz and thank you

Hi Alex, the updated version is much much better! Hopefully we'll be seeing that soon. Some of the Enviro400 MMC's are fitted with stop/start technology which turns the engine off when the bus stops, the driver doesn't do it manually (Like the ones in Manchester). As not all of them are fitted with this not all versions of this MMC do it, but it is an option :)
