OMSI 2 - Autodromo Busotto LU

The CAM Busotto is an Italian citybus produced by Carrozzeria Autodromo Modena (CAM) from 1994 to 2003. The Busotto was available in 12 metres long urban (LU) and suburban (LS, LI) variants, with diesel and CNG engines, and even as trolleybus. An 18 metres long model (AU) was also produced, but only as trolleybus, with AdTranz electrical equipment.
The chassis and engines were provided by MAN. The bus was built on the NL 2x2 (A10) chassis, and the first series (1994-2001) had a single step at the back door. The engine is a 6.8 litres MAN DO826 LOH15, making 220 horsepower, paired with a 3-speed Voith automatic transmission.
In 2001 the Busotto was given a facelift, which did not include any mechanical upgrades, except for the engine to meet Euro 3 emission standard, but the body recieved a new look and the rear step was also removed, making the bus fully low floor.
The production of the Busotto ended in 2003 when CAM went bankrupt.

Listen, i know noone has made a mod of it, but there used to be a fleet of narrow-bodied neoplan busses in Palanga (Lithuania) made of some kind of futuristic plastic. They looked 20+ years ahead of their time, if i recall correctly one was from 1980. I forgot what they were called but some features included narrow, single-tire wheels on both axles, weird body shape and size (length and width). I'm not as good in digging up info but they were part of my childhood, and afaik they were super rare. Another rare thigs are a fleet of Irvine Citaro CNG busses in Klaipėda. Really weird and special design, i think its the only place to have them in service second-hand from Germany. I'll try to post links of what i mean in the reply section below.

Alright i found out that they were a project called Neoplan MIC. There were CNG, electric, diesel and some other abomination of an engine available. All i found was an infomercial showing the electric Metroliner, which was pretty much the same as the diesel ones found in Palanga. Also i found pictures of the fleet. One was literally crushed, another one was missing its front, and i forgot what happened to the rest. I will link the public transport spotting website.

How do you manage to get OMSI running so smoothly? Looking at your specs, they aren’t all that different from mine. Yet, I get lag spikes all the time. You have it running smoothly for 20 minutes.

The throttle and brake worked separately on both my DFGT and G920. What wheel do you have? Are you using the latest driver/firmware? Make sure you don't have combined pedals enabled in the wheel's driver.

Yeah I know... The main reason is that I've been working full-time since June which doesn't leave much free time for me. I can't really get myself to spend half of my weekends with recording, post editing, and all the things that comes with it. I work in IT so I kinda sit in front of my monitor most of the time, I don't always feel like doing the same at home too. 😅 Besides that, I can't really find projects I'm super hyped about, basically all there's left are DLCs and a few projects that are unlikely to ever see the light of day. I'm keeping an eye on a few forums to stay in the loop though. 😉

Routeres, I've got a problem and I maybe thought you could help me. Your steering wheel, that you've used bevore, the Logitech DFGT has got no clutch. I've got the same one. I tried to use the R3 Button as the clutch, but when I programm it as the "clutch" and then press it in the game, nothing happens. Why do you need it, you think? For example I want to drive the Ikarus 256.44, but it has no automatic clutch and therefore I can't drive it. So can you maybe help me? Thanks a lot!

Hey, when you assigned the R3 button as the clutch on the game controller tab in the options, did you tick the "continuous" checkbox? What it does is it keeps the vehicle event triggered while you keep pressing the button. If your checkbox is unticked, it means that the game will only register a single button press. Also make sure that the automatic clutch is disabled in the options, and I would also delete all the presets from the gamectrler.cfg file, except yours of course, just to be sure.

​@@routeres Firstly I have to say: Thank you for your SUPER fast reply. I tested it right away and figured out, that the problem really was the gamectrler.cfg. I deleted all the other steering wheels and controllers, except the DFGT of course, and then saw probably the main problem. By all the other buttons there was a "0" and when I looked at the clutch button I saw a "1". So I corrected the "1" to a "0" and now my clutch finally works. All I have to say now is that you defenetely MUST keep on bringing new videos. Every time I want to have a new bus for OMSI 2, I first look at your videos and then pick one. Your descriptions are always brilliant too and you have all the infos you need in there (e.g. has automatic clutch, has climate control, ect.). So all in all: Thank you very much, Routeres!

Not necessarily, TrackIR is more sophisticated and comfortable to use than this method. It's more like a clever hack, not something I would use for my gaming sessions. No wonder I only use it for the intro scenes, haha. Enjoy your TrackIR mate, and Merry Christmas! 🎄

Shamelessly copy-pasted from a previous reply: You have to find the trigger for the 3rd door and assign a key to it. It differs from bus to bus, but be sure to check manual first.

I'm a desktop guy myself, laptops are for work imo. The config file just has to be copied in the option_presets folder, then you can choose it from the drop-down list on the general tab in the options.

Hello! Első körben ellenőrizd a logfile tartalmát, hátha van valami folyamatos hibabejegyzés, mert beakadt valami a játékban. Az simán okozhat ilyesmit. Milyen géppel tolod? Lehet a vas kevés a pályához. Az sem kizárt, hogy a pálya van úgy megépítve, hogy elfekszik tőle a játék.

Nyáron volt egy nagyobb felújítás az oldalon, emiatt a videóim alatti linkek már nem közvetlenül a letöltés oldalára visznek, hanem egyszerűen kidob a főoldalra. Egyébként minden ugyan ott van, mint eddig, tehát a tartalom nem változott. A villamost az OMSI Webdisk-ről tudod letölteni. Majd ahogy időm engedi, frissítem a leírásokban a linkeket.

A táblát nem tudom miért rakja ki, elvileg nem kéne neki. A drucken pedig azt jelenti, hogy nyomtatni, tulajdonképpen teljesen rendeltetésszerű, hogy a nyomtatás gomb megnyomásakor nyomtat a gép. 😅

Okay, so here's my trick: I modified the driver's view on the default NL202 by editing the camera coordinates in the .bus file. I moved the camera to the front bumper, so during these scenes I can still move the camera smoothly, while not showing any part of the "camera car".

Hey man! I got a I5 4690, 16GB DDR3 and a RX Vega 56. Maybe your pc is a little to old or you have the wrong specs. I run the game at 60 or more. Also it isn't 64bit yet.

Your point about my PC is valid, kind of. I built it a bit more than 5 years ago using a now 6 years old architecture, with the only upgrades being an SSD and a new graphics card. As much as it hurts to admit, it's starting to show its age. However, what I'm not willing to just let go - and I'm kind of hung up on this - is that LOTUS' looks just can't justify the poor performance, because it's only good looking if you compare it to OMSI. 30-40 fps on the test map with no traffic, pedestrians, passengers or even working mirrors?! And even though it's an early access title, the game itself has been in development since before its announcement, which was in October 2015. I'm afraid it's going to be like OMSI, that if you want smooth gameplay, you're going to need overkill hardware. I'm not particularly okay with that to be honest, but let's hope I'm wrong here. Also the choice of graphics API is still baffling me. Why OpenGL? AMD graphics cards are struggling with OpenGL. I tried LOTUS on a similar setup with a bit slower CPU and a GTX 960, and on the same settings and resolution, it was running at 60 frames per second most of the time. Phew... sorry about the rant. Well 100% you're right about the AMD Part tho. My I5 4690 is just one Generation newer then yours. Also my GPU is a little bit better then a 1070Ti. At this moment the game is only 32bit. Which means the game can only use 4GB of ram. With the 64bit version the game can take much more and much faster RAM. I'm building my own map with LOTUS and it works pretty well. Only a high load of bushes and trees will drop performance. Maybe tweaking some settings in your AMD Graphics will make some wonders?
