I agree and disagree with you about Titus. I think he's pretty well respected. 5 Emmy nominations for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt plus being the original Sebastian in Little Mermaid on Broadway. I think he's in the same position someone like Brian Stokes Mitchell was years ago. Will he ever be the biggest star in the world? No, but everyone that knows him really loves and respects him.

As an African-American growing up in Oakland,CA during the 60s amist ground zero of gun violence, murder, projects, heroin, poverty, police brutality and social unrest, I saw the movie and heard the theme song and I recall a feeling of hope. Hearing the updated version today affirms that I made it out of that war zone alive and that song is one of the reasons why & how. Thank you for the reminder💞☮

It's just the same way people complain about the vocal purity of CDs vs. vinyl, or why people shell out for that concert experience even though they could listen to a perfectly streamed rendition at home. Ai might end up being able to fake it better than an actual person, but it still will never beat the wonder of an actual human being able to produce those sounds, emotions, etc. Plus, there's the fact that most people are inherently predisposed to root for flawed creatures or underdogs more, it doesn't get more flawed than humans. Ai might have to start glitching in order to maintain long term appreciation 😂

A friend sent me this. I am ashamed to say that I havent heard of Voctave before, something I am correcting now. I am obsessed with them now. Already saw all the videos. What an arrangement this was for this classic sound first recorded by Barbra Streisand in 1970 who also acted in the movie with the same title. In this arrangement they sound like an orchestra. They should be going to all the TV talk shows, to be seen and heard and get the recognition they deserve!!! Bravi!!!

Just beautiful. When I was a young teen, my aunt and uncle took me to my first professional play and it was the one with this song (same title). I was mesmerized, and that was the beginning of a life-long love for the theater. For a dozen or so years, I wrote theater reviews and had the opportunity to meet and interview some amazing directors, actors, composers, lyricists, and choreographers. We just never know what impact we're going to have on a young person's life.

Out standing performance for a song that awakens ones spirit. I sang this very song in Imma Kunz cave in Switzerland. Everything changed after that day, I quit smoking and didn't realize I did until I arrived back in the states and my spiritual compass has changed drastically, now I use my powers to protect democracy. Barbra Streisand put this song on the map, but I must say that this version with its racial harmony brought tears to my eyes and the lead singer tore the shit up, out of this song and he gave me goosebumps towards the ending of this song. I want my country to to reflect this video in that... Everyone working together from all backgrounds towards one goal... HARMONY! This is a powerful song that now has a new rendition that is just a powerful as when Barbra performed it years before! I never saw the movie that this song was featured in, because I bought the LP back then, I just looked (after reading the comments here) and saw that this movie was about a woman who wanted to quit smoking. It all makes sense now, when I was in that spiritual cave I did not have the intent to quit smoking, but this song (Barbra's version) kept ringing in my mind 3 months before I left to go to Switzerland. The cave was the last attraction that I visited, but the morning before I was to go there the song was louder in my head and that was the reason I sang that song in the cave, but its interesting that once I left the cave (before I realized I quit smoking) the music left my mind... If it had not been for this video, I wouldn't have been able to piece together why this song rang through my mind all those years ago.
