I self-published my first novel at the end of 2022 and took it offline in Feb 2023. I realized I basically did everything wrong, lol, but I learned so much! Now I'm re-working that book and re-creating all of my marketing materials. I'm so excited to re-start my publishing journey. I closed my photography business that I ran for 10 years and started a career in social media marketing, and I've learned so much working for other clients. I've been doing that for about nine months now. I'm so ready to throw my skills at my own project.

Thank you for your thoughts on breaking away from “I did good, I did bad” My ARCs just went out and they are overwhelmingly positive. The criticisms have stuck to me like tar, it’s so disarming and your perspective REALLY helped

Congrats on sending out your ARCs! How exciting! So glad it was helpful 🫶🏻

Thanks for answering previous question re. book length! The reason I was asking (as questions for future vlog) 1. I've looked on Amazon for rough author royalties based on a word count of 100,000 words, & priced at, say $12. Calculator says that will work out as roughly 2 dollars in royalties per book sold for the author. Is this accurate? Do you have a video anywhere breaking down the royalties you get with your boos? If not, could you maybe use a Marionettes book as an example of royalties per physical copy? 2. Where did you get your assistant & would you ever make a video on the process of working with one? I am considering working with one. Finally, LOVING these frequent vlogs. Thank you

I appreciate you offering both covers for paperback. I love Elsie Silver’s people cover for her new book, but I’m not an electronic reader. And I hate the discrete cover. And I recommend LarryReads. Love her and she has a large KZbin and TikTok presence.

I like her people covers more too! Thanks for the rec! 💙

These daily vlogs have been fun to watch each day when I take a break from my own writing work. Right now, I have had no time to actually write or get things done for my author life, as I am not full-time. However, I have grown things enough that it is not part-time now either. I am stretched thin and trying to make it work for now. I am excited for Camp NaNoWriMo July to finish drafting my dragon/ enemies-to-lovers fantasy, Trial of Flame and Wings. ✌

I have been enjoying this series! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. What is your process when outlining? Do you use any structures like Save the Cat storybeats, etc? Thank you! ❤ I don’t know if you’ve used the Threads app at all but the book community there is VERY positive and could be a nice place to vet influencers and maybe even start promoting your backlist. I see a lot of self-pub authors enjoying it there!

I’m not much of an outliner! I usually know inciting incident, midpoint, and the climax ahead of time…but that’s about it lol

I think you should definitely reach out to Haley Pham. She's one of the biggest booktubers and has one of the largest following on Goodreads as well. I think your new book will be right up her alley.

Don't worry about it! It was poorly worder and I confused myself while writing it😂 Not sure if her taste is small town, but I like how theladysparks does her promo posts.
