Very insightful conversation, especially about goverment being on the forefront of e-commerce as a prerequisite for economic development. And daraz- about how millions of consumer data going out of the country. But what i don't understand is why is Amun ji refusing to accept Darz as their competitor, and the one that beat them too the e-commerce business. Instead, he referred to Ali Baba??

I believe there is pros and cons in having big private e-commerce companies. For government it is easy to regulate (and form favorable taxing policy) few big companies rather than looking after many small vendors. these big ecommerce platforms gather large data hence open a new front on marketing and jobs based on data analytics. Consumers are also in advantage because they can get less expensive products easily, more choices on same platform. The only cons I see here is the big e-commerce can displace small traders using unfair trade practices. in addition, Data privacy should be regulated by the government.
