ON BLACK

From the archive: We originally produced this little ditty as a technique demo, and a variety of techniques were used. Some cel painted and self-lined, animating directly on black paper (pretty challenging, you can't see through black paper.) We animated those sections by simply flipping the page and making small dots for positions and then rendering our future away. Other techniques, cut out Pantone paper, and the dolphin an opaque ink. (the dolphin was duplicated in After Effects for fun, but all else is what it was). Enjoy.
