The U.S. warships in the Mediterranean region are being used to deter a wider conflict in the region amid Israel's war with Hamas.

The overwhelming majority of U.S military operations are deterent missions the idea being that the mere presence of U.S military equipment and personnel can be enough to de-escalate a potentially larger conflict because the cost of war with the U.S is simply too great. Biden doesn't love war but having these weapons and not having to use them is a much better alternative than having no weapons and your enemy does and take advantage of those who don't possess the capabilities to defend themselves. It's the exact reason we've been sending weapons to Ukraine and dozens of other countries. It sends a message to Dictatorships and the major world powers that you can't just annex and go to war with any nation who's smaller and less capable than you. That's now how diplomacy should be handled. Biden doesn't love war, he simply understands the importance of projecting your militaries power without going to war and killing people.

You know what would be a great idea? We should have a news reporter give a video tour of our destroyers telling our enemies how many ships we have in the area, how many of each type of weapon we have on each ship and how many Marines and Navy sailors are on each ship.

What are you even talking about? 1. It's impossible to hide ships today. It's been impossible for a long time now. Everyone who matters already know where everyone who matters is. 2. This is a flight I burke. This thing has been around for decades. Pretty much nothing exterior is a secret anymore. Everyone knows what torpedo launchers, AShM launchers, vls, etc looks like and does. It's a non issue. 3. Again, pretty much everyone who matters already knows what's in the area. It can't be kept a secret and it ain't a secret. As far as capabilities? My guy if you see an amhib then likely meu is riding it. Those numbers are published. Even it ain't, it's easy to calculate. If you see a cvn then of course it's gonna have aircraft. It's not hard to come to that conclusion. It's an aircraft carrier. Think before comment. ABC isn't showing anything that our advisories doesn't already know. And deterance doesn't work if you don't show the big stick.

A lot of people have died around the world because reporters had to be the first to tell everyone about it. They had to scoop the other networks. I was specialized military with access to information that you will never see or hear about, and have been around long enough to know how it works. And as far as the big stick and flaunting your wares goes, you never want to remove the element of surprise. Most of the time it is your best weapon. It would be true to say that I have nothing good to say about the news networks and their dissemination of propaganda and other misinformation to the masses. Also their letting the cat out of the bag prematurely or misrepresenting people they interview can cause irrepritable damage. News reporters who align themselves with the treacherous leaders of these networks do much more damage than good. And for what? For fame and fortune. Some people will do or say anything, knowing it is a lie, for that money and recognition.

I’m glad they showed a little bit of what the rest of our forces are doing , you don’t always hear about those guys , they can be fast and very mobile as needed ,with the modern armament today their capabilities are not to messed with . I was on aircraft carriers and we always could see them either close by or on the horizon many miles off . They played an important part in whatever was going on at the time !

The on-scene reporter isn't a Democrat thing any more than it's a Republican thing. Think back to Desert Storm (and actually well before that). Republican George H.W. Bush was in charge, and front-line combat units had embedded correspondents from major networks as part of a normal day. OPSEC still worked. Probably still does. I didn't hear her announce the GPS coordinates of the destroyer. "In the Mediterranean" is a fairly big area so they're about as secure as on any other day.
