Great video, I bought my car (Mercedes Marco Polo) second-hand in 2020 (from 2015) and never ever knew where the "tiny westfalia key cover" thingy was for until now! (and so my pre-owner). It was lying in my glove box all the time! Luckily I could still use the red key and remove and install the tow bar, grease it a little and install the weather proof. I drive 95% of the time with the tow ball installed.

Thanks for saving my life 😅 I couldn't get the key off and I've already lost hope - the solution was to clean the outside of the part mounted on the car. There was actually some rust there, not much but it was enough. ❤

Good morning, the hook is very convenient, only now I can't extract it anymore, I turn the key clockwise but the knob comes out just right but doesn't rotate, I always put the cap back when not inserted, I tried with WD40 but there's no way to turn the knob

Thanks.. I will try to reproduce this on my car today.. I think it's missing the weather proofing thing down there and thats why it's kinda tough to get it there. Also my technique might be a bit wrong. Might need some lubrication there then..

I never put the keyhole cover on mine. And now i cant insert the key, does anyone have tips to solve this? Ive tried wd40 but no luck :(
