I won this shoe in an on sponsored race. Certainly not for speedwork, but I do enjoy the shoe a lot for grinding the easy miles. Pleasant on the foot.

I had the first version and now this version. And I agree: this version is much improved. I use this as my long run shoe for now and it works well. I daily train in the Asics Glideride 2 and my performance trainer is the Evoride 2. I also occasionally run in the Cloudflow 2, but the ride is very very firm. Thanks for another great review.

I feel like On Running is getting better with their shoe releases in terms of design and performance. This version had many improvements over the previous version. I really appreciate the roominess of the toe box and the overall roominess and comfort without being too large. I think that I will wait for future revisions of shoes such as the Cloudultra and Cloudflow so that I can benefit from future improvements.

I recently went to Vienna for a short break and a large proportion of people were wearing ON Shoes. I recently purchased a pair of cloudstratus 2's for walking because I'm a heavy (fat) guy and i think they'll offer decent support.

Agree with the comments on Stratus v1. I also have the Swift. Sadly for me, both shoes are stone magnets, which I find frustrating while out running, as I frequently need to stop to dislodge small stones. Both shoes have since been dropped from my rotation, which is a pity as I like what On is trying to do to advance running shoes and clothing.

Thank you for all your reviews. Can you explain/clarify " true to size"? Brands don't use the same size charts. Thanks.

It basically means the shoe runs true to size. So if you usually run in an 8, we'd advise also getting this in an 8.

It'd be great if they made them all on standard lasts but they don't. Brands may even change that between their own shoes too.

@@TheRunTesters Thanks for the reply. UK size as a reference I guess. I had the first version of On Cloud and second version of Cloudsurfer. They were very very comfortable, but the outsole didn't last long. On customer service is superb so I could try other shoes. I like the cloudflow1 and 2 but my favorite On is the Cloudventure Peak 2 (sock like fit). All same size. I would try the echo if the price was @160£.

I have the Cloudflyer and Cloudace. Both top quality shoes. Hard and no energy return.. After trying shoes like the Rebel V2 you understand that they are simply not a fun shoe. I use them for walks now..

I feel like ON suffers from the Skechers Performance syndrome: most people don't and would not consider the shoes because of the name.

I work at a fleet feet and find it to be quite the opposite. People come in specifically for On’s because of the brand cache. We sell the Cloudflow and Cloudswift to people that probably need more cushioning because they are so enamored with the brand and it’s aesthetic.

Those holes in the midsole is a deal breaker for me. Like a wood attacked by termites

It’s because On Running shoes have some unique designs and approaches such as the midsole cushioning technology. Most people prefer what is considered established and popular. I’ve got the Cloudstratus v2 and it’s super comfortable and very fun.

There's a bigger population of casual runners than serious runners. Nothing wrong with making shoes that cater to a larger audience. It's got an unique look that makes every other shoe look boring and ordinary
