This kinda happened to me last year. My bf and I have been together for roughly 6 years now. Then I was wondering if where our relationship will go, if we’re both in the same wavelength, like are we both thinking of marrying each other. I have been wondering about it for quite some time, then one night I decided to just ask... although there were times before that we roughly talked about it but it wasn’t that big of a deal before. Anyways, going back, I asked, I just simply asked if what he’s thinking about our future, am I in his future kind of thing? Good thing I asked because I was able to understand what’s in his mind in terms of our relationship. Fortunately, he has plans to propose but he’s in Vancouver right now for work and I am in Ontario. I was expecting he’ll propose last year in December, but yeah, pandemic is still happening. Now we gotta wait when he’ll be able to come back or me visiting him. I grew up in Philippines and I know it’s not that typical for Filipinas to be the first one asking this kind of question, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to find that peace of mind. I think it’s really being honest and being transparent with each other. But the biggest factor is how you guys communicate towards each other. Not every couple is the same, maybe just figure out what’s your partner’s love language and just ask! Ask and the worst answer you’ll get is no. 😊 If your partner said no or not yet, then understand why he/she said that, reflect on what’s your relationship is like and work together if there any improvements that need to be done, which is like all the time!! This happened to my bf and I last time, the first time we roughly talked about marriage, we both understood each other that were both not ready yet and solely focusing on ourselves, especially on our respective career goals. I really like Megan Young and Mikael Daez! I have been listening to their podcasts as well and they are inspiring! 😊
