In the spirit of venting here, and ONLY here, I do wish to voice something I've kept to myself for quite a while now. And I want to qualify the statement I'm about to make. Strip out all of the drama, all of the backstory we all have; we are a podcast group. We talk on mic, we play off each other, and we put on an entertaining show. That is the core of what we do, yes? So having a cast that meshes well is key. Differences are perfectly okay, welcome even, but there does have to be alot of chemistry between regular members (this is less so for guests). With all of that said, I'll say my piece. I'm shocked Weasel was a cast member as long as she was. Again, stripping out all of the drama, all of the backstory and history, Weasel's sense of humor, general attitude, habits, and way of speaking just didn't mesh with any particular member of the group. Except maybe ME, now that I think about it, considering our propensity for smut. In an attempt to not make it seem like I'm targeting Weasel here, I will say that I feel this way about Patient to a lesser degree as well. Both him and Spoken have done a great job on the show, but Patient has moments where his principles clash with the group in ways that aren't just played up for laughs. The difference with him is these incidents are quite minor and for the most part we can push past them and put on the show we want to. I've kind of lost track of my original point by now, but my overall feelings on the matter are that I wish the Cross Brain group the best, and I wish the Fandom Flux crew the best. We tried something, and it didn't work. I had fun while it lasted, and I'm sorry it had to end in such an event. Both groups will move on and keep doing our own thing, and there's noting wrong with that. I'm not involved enough to know if Patient will be on future episodes or not, but I sure as hell don't hold anything against him no matter what he chooses, nor do I hold anything against anyone honestly. This is what it is, now we move on.

I’m sorry for the struggles that are coming down on FandomFlux. I support and appreciate the show to the fullest extent. I believe that the two have reacted poorly and remind me of some of the KZbin product reviewers that trash on each other, and then they band together to trash people that are doing the job right. I will continue to enjoy your channel and the content that you, Zero, Kenchi618, Patient, and Slicer have put out and continue producing. I started listening right around Episode 160-164, and I have now gone back to listen to 105-present and 40-58 so far. While I have not always agreed on all of the opinions expressed by the crew, you guys have always been professional with disagreements, discussions, and then moving on. Recently, though, some of the professionalism has seemed to slip. Best of luck to you guys; I hope your next episode comes out soon so I can listen in once again. Thank you for providing something that speaks to the people as a guide from fandom, well known and not, to writers and readers that are trying to improve and understand.

To think the first Fandom Flux vid almost an hour long I'd watch after a long break would be a drama vid. To be honest, it sounds more like an announcement rather than drama considering this happened in the space of a short week. Good to know you guys are still going strong despite the minor set backs and low subscriber count. Don't have much of a clue who those two are but hey didn't know 'em, didn't care about 'em, and you guys certainly didn't need 'em so nothing gained, nothing lost.

I appreciate this video. We did talk about it and I got a good idea of what happened, and I feel I'm still involved enough that I can say I agree with the ultimate decision, but it IS nice to see a fairly complete picture of things. I also appreciate your temper management, and your deliberate, aggressive effort to remain as neutral as possible while describing what happened. I also agree with how we really don't have any other roles, the ONLY one that comes to mind is someone who hangs around our stream chat, not in the audio recording but just in the text chat, and keeps the conversation going and alive in times of slowness. I feel Weasel could have done that, as she has in the past, but we ARE a very one-note group, and besides editor, we all basically have the same job.

[Future warning this is just a stream of consciousness to make sure i'm not going to feel any regret in what i say] I fully understand the situation.. and from the very little things I know of the situation. I didn't expect Spoken to be very aggro on the matter.. and I was some of the people that had issues with Weasel's volume...issues(and other bits, but you know what i'm talking about). So I understand the decision you've made. I hope things just blow over for you... I listen to 95% of the channel's content so i'm always around to listen if you want to have some one else around, but nevertheless. Hope you guys can still keep making content (I really enjoyed Full Interest.. and Kaiji's a fun time.. you guys dig so deep into things) and i hope you guys get back into making stuff about tropes and writing advice.. Good luck out there Fandom Flux.

So, I've been aware of this for a bit now seeing as I'm in the This Bites! Discord, the place Spoken mentioned people being upset on. I got their side of the story first, but unlike a few people I've seen go straight to the witch hunt I wanted to hear your side of the story as well, because I don't believe you would do something like asking someone to leave the Podcast without reason. I also feel I should mention that Weasel has been torn up about this and that that 'Grieving' comment was probably meant to be taken genuinely. Honestly, there is no right answer here. There have been problems with Weasel in the past, as you have mentioned, and while Weasel was pretty open with what happened in Discord, as you have gone to lengths to make sure not to expose her issues without her express permission I'll refrain from doing so as well. But this isn't a great environment for someone with those issues to be in, although it also doesn't feel right to exclude her because of them. But once again, there is more to it than just that and no clear cut correct answer here. You've made your decision, and since I feel torn in both directions about it I'll just choose to support both of you as best I can.

Undistinguished Accuracy I don't call acting like an adult and going directly to a person you have problems with to address said problems "bending over backwards." It seems like that's the bare fucking minimum you ought to do. But then, apparently you and Casey both disagree.

Why do your problems concern me in any way, shape, or form? You can think whatever you want about me. I simply don't care.

In the video, I believe Casey said he was trying to get in contact with Weasel to have a discussion about the issues they were having, but he refused to talked to him. I think one of the main issues Casey has with this whole situation is that both Weasel and eventually Spoken refused to talk to him and, instead of talking to him, they told everyone their side of the story on the This Bites! Discord channel, which Casey did not have access to and could therefore not defend himself. Basically, Casey tried to do the bare minimum, but it seems like Spoken and Weasel did not want to do the same.
@LightInTheIgnorance7 жыл бұрын
Spoken here. Casey tried to talk to Weasel while Patient and I were having to actively keep her from going into a panic attack or worse over the situation. She insisted for several hours that everyone was better off without her and had more fun without her around. Subsequent to her managing to calm down with our assistance, I'm not aware of his trying to contact her further. I'd already received his side of things as well as hers before having to confirm to her that she was off the podcast (by the way, I never actually told Casey not to talk to her, only that I was doing so at the precise moment where he asked. The five and a half days since that are entirely on him). Basically, Casey did the bare minimum with me, fuck-all with Weasel (presumably because I presented him with a convenient excuse), and after I washed my hands of the podcast because of his being a coward and a hypocrite he decided to stir the pot by making this worthless forty-minute piece of drek. Oh by the way. The This Bites! Discord channel has a permanent, open invitation to anyone and everyone on both the Sufficient Velocity and SpaceBattles threads. It's threadmarked under Informational. There's no restrictions to access beyond willingness to join and the trivial effort required to look up the post and click the link. I'm not sure why Casey never joined, nor why everyone else who reads it who's on the podcast never joined. It's a point of mild confusion for me. They'd still be welcome, even Casey, though I'd be a mite snippy with him if it happened some time this week. Waking up to a notice about this video was the start of what's been an exceedingly unpleasant day for me.
