Appreciate this topic so much. Would like to see Lama Lena revisit it more often in the future. And to all those who are transitioning sooner than later -- make the most of it!

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:45 Everyone *will die, so it's essential to understand and familiarize oneself with the death process to make it less intimidating.* 04:01 The *death process can start weeks before the last breath, involving physical fatigue and Earth element absorption.* 05:56 Medical *interventions like NG tubes or IV rehydration can extend life, but it's crucial to have clear directives in advance.* 09:29 During *terminal illnesses, focus on hospice comfort care, and pain management with opiates is acceptable.* 11:31 As *Earth element absorbs into water element, a meditative posture or the Buddha's death position can assist in the process.* 15:50 Water *element absorption involves sounds resembling rushing water; offering ice chips can ease thirst.* 17:21 Vision *during fire element absorption is described as sparks diminishing into darkness.* 20:34 Air *element absorption may cause dizziness; allow the process, don't fight it, and experience the sensation.* 21:14 Space *element absorption marks the cessation of breath; wait for morbid lividity before calling the coroner.* 23:45 In *the first BAU of clear luminosity, rest without attempting to maintain a center; caregivers should be trained not to disturb.* 29:28 Medically *assisted dying, if done moderately slowly and at home, may not disturb the reincarnation process.* 34:53 Last *thoughts are important; dying with fear may lead to a post-death experience dominated by fear.* 36:25 Tum *to the wind experiences are significant; familiarity with the death process is crucial, and seeking such experiences can be beneficial for preparation.* 36:39: To *prepare for death, create good karma through random acts of kindness.* 38:11: Absorbing *elements during death means the diminishing of one element's effect as the next intensifies.* 39:20: In *sudden death situations, it's crucial to be familiar with the Bardo after death (BAU) process.* 40:27: Regardless *of the circumstances of death, the BAU of dhata follows, characterized by ultimate clarity.* 42:57: The *second BAU involves a pure, illusory body, the union of dharmakaya, samboa Kaya, and nuraya.* 46:34: The *practice of Phowa (POA) is recommended during the period of the last breath to guide consciousness.* 49:51: Three *days after the end of tudom is a crucial time for guiding the deceased based on their practice level.* 55:00: Phowa, *a specific training, is advised during the period when breathing has stopped but the heart still has activity.* 57:39: There's *no one to send you back after a near-death experience; practice and recognition are key.* 01:05:14: During *the BAU phases, conceptual thought, including words, may still occur, depending on one's habitual thinking style.* 01:06:53: Supporting *dying pets involves love, touch, mantras, and reminding them of shared love to guide their consciousness.* 01:08:22: The *sensation of feeling a presence after someone's death is associated with the second Bardo of the afterlife.* 01:08:49: Room *temperature may affect the timing of death processes, and it's recommended to keep the room cool during tudom.* 01:09:43: Exchanging *organs or biological material does not transfer individual karma; we are in constant interchange with others.* 01:12:26 The *speaker discusses planets having ecologies and thinking they are people, mentioning the Sun as an ecology of fire beings.* 01:14:13 Psychedelics, *like DMT, may not be useful for Buddhist practice, but they can help individuals realize there are alternative ways of thinking and feeling.* 01:16:18 In *emergencies, if a qualified teacher is unavailable, use common sense and find the most experienced meditator to guide someone through the dying process.* 01:17:30 The *speaker emphasizes relaxation as a key element in progressing toward Enlightenment during the second Bardo.* 01:20:20 Tips *for improving dream recognition during falling asleep: use melatonin if falling asleep is slow, try a nightlight if falling asleep is too fast, and pay attention to elements leading up to dream occurrences.* 01:21:47 Approach *helping non-practitioners facing death with a positive attitude, treating it as a joyful transition, and consider sharing this perspective with the dying person.* 01:24:05 Cold *feet during death are considered auspicious, symbolizing the departure of chi from the body through the feet, potentially leading to a positive rebirth.* 01:25:31 The *speaker introduces the topic of the third Bardo, emphasizing the emergence of patterns of the diani Buddhas and the importance of the death process's early stages for easier liberation.* 01:28:07 The *concept of "law" or ghosts is explained, noting that it is a three-dimensional recording at the place of death or burial, serving as an imprint rather than the person's mindstream.* 01:30:36 Dreaming *occurs during certain Bardo states, but individuals may not be aware they are dreaming. Familiarity with the death process is encouraged to mitigate fear when the process begins.* 01:31:50 In *the BAU of dhata, ultimate lucidity allows individuals to carry out intentions, such as entering a pure land or receiving the four wongs, without the burden of karmic obstacles.* Made with HARPA AI

I do Phowa (Sablam Phowa) since 2004 and I have learned it from Lama Ole Nydahl who is the 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje student (and previously the 16th Karmapa's). It usually takes about 9 days to complete course but with Lama Ole everybody got their signs after 2-3 days. I don't think you can learn it online, that would be bad idea I think.
