I raised in a Muslim country. When I was 16 I saw Jesus Christ in my dream. Me and my mother were in our local mosque. My mother was doing salah (aka muslim praying). Everywhere was dark. I was on the ground. At the same time while my mom was praying I saw Jesus Christ on the sky. He was looking at me. He was bright. Spreading light to darkness I told you. He was directly looking at me while everywhere in dark as he was shining. I am thinking since that day about this dream of mine. I am 20 years old now. I prayed to God to give me a signal about himself last week one day later videos about Christianity started to show up in KZbin and now I am here. What is the meaning of my dream?

Interesting, it reminds me of a couple verses, John 14:6, " Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." And also John 8:12, " Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”" I'd suggest reading through the gospels, at least St. John's gospel. If your interest remains, look and see if there's any Orthodox Churches around you, go to a service and talk with the priest. You could also try the Jesus Prayer in the interim, "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have mercy on me", or the shortened version "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me", it's usually said multiple times and with a prayer rope but you could probably just set a few minutes aside to say it for that short period of time. Just a couple ideas given what little I know of the situation. The Orthodox approach to dreams is usually to disregard them entirely, but maybe this instance could be an invitation to learn more about Jesus Christ. Mind you, I am just a layman, I have no special graces, so don't consider my words as anything special. Just offering what little I know in the hope it might be of some benefit.

That is very interesting. My advice would be to go and see an Orthodox Priest about your experience, the sooner the better. May Christ Jesus be with you.

About 6 weeks ago I was in a very sad mood and as I cried I knelt at the foot of my bed in my pitch black room and asked Jesus to let me know that he loves me. That night I had a dream where I was looking through the eyes of a man presumed to be Jesus as he was getting whipped. The next morning I woke up in such a calm and peaceful feeling and I believe that was a message straight from him.

@@dpoolrd2912 Ok, ..."Alien movements of the soul" simply means unnatural movements/inclinations or thoughts and desires of the soul. As I understand it, basically sinful thoughts, feelings or actions during the day, which effect your dreams.

I don't "have" dreams because of years of insomnia and poor sleep. It seems in this struggle I might be protected from classic protestant prelest

I think that it's good knowledge but, the only father that you have is GOD. Again, this debunks the Orthodox, catholic approach. Matthew 23:9, And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. The only father is YHWH. None of the apostle's or church leaders.
@miguelv7657 ай бұрын
This debunks nothing you have a wrong interpretation of the verse as expected. The meaning of the verse was that no one has greater authority over God not to never literally call someone father, i call my biological father "father", the apostles and church fathers are there to teach us how to do Christianity, remember what Christ left behind was a church.
@nickkerinklio82397 ай бұрын
Even when I was a Protestant, this interpretation of Matthew 23:9 was confusing and useless. I have no idea how you and so many others see it as proof of anything.

well if we’re pulling verses what about Paul in 1 Corinthians 4:15-16 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. and what about Elisha when He cries over Elijah and calls him his father? Do you see what an absurdity it is to say that Orthodoxy is incorrect because of calling our spiritual elders father?If what your saying is actually a problem then I can’t even call my own earthly dad father?
@Nina-ik4xd7 ай бұрын
Do you think that Orthodoxy for 2000 years didn't know about this supposed "debunk"? I suggest to read about the discussions among Orthodox and compare it to simple minded Protestantism. This will show to you how deep and knowledegable Orthodox teachings are.

sorry to hear you do not have a father. It must be strange only having half the chromosomes. My sympathies, I can only imagine the pain of watching others and enjoy time with their dad
