'' How in a little over a generation did one man become the creative equivalent of a people?'' Blurb for LOTR. Perhaps my favourite quote about Tolkien

I thought it originally described The Silmarilllion? Although I have seen various books quote reviews from an author's work in general and not just that book in particular, perhaps this was a similar case.

He had acess to the British archives. He said himself that his works are are our true hidden history, particularly that of the Europeans. The Simmarilion goes back into the Antediluvian world and the similarities are striking. Its not accurate oup to the details, but a lot is.

Interesting, but it sounds like it was read like an AI and how stilted the speech is makes it rather more difficult to follow than it has to be.

I only find one flaw in this essay, which is to be expected as I am an atheist, and cannot/do not make the same mythopoeic leap of justification that my literary hero for the truth of Christianity; but that aside, I concur with all else that he writes. Indeed this essay has long formed the basis of my insight into myth and legend. If you ever get the chance/inclination I have always found 'Leaf by Niggle' to be one of his most revealing and somehow magical. ''It's a gift!''

Perhaps cultivate your attention for less than interesting but still relevant information?

Listening is an acquired taste, but I can read it again and again, and have done. It’s not for autists who can only comprehend cogs and wheels, mind. ;-)

This should either be read, or read by a human with some eloquence
