On google earth I'm used to finding and exploring ancient ruins in the American Southwest, but I spotted this bizarre geological structure. It seemed alien and unexplained mystery. I had to go check it out, and found proof that some ancient civilization - possibly the ancient puebloans or indigenous Hopi tribe - had been there...

Thoes edges aren't the steps. There's actually ledges carved out like a stepping ladder.

Yeah, I mentioned the steps were still below me - I couldn't even get to them with the dampness of the rock from the rains. If I wasn't alone I might have pushed the envelope a bit more, but I've climbed enough Moki steps to know that on my own it was simply not wise. I'll have to make a return trip 😉

You'll find that in some videos I do - along with a myriad of other kinds of gear. It's not possible to bring everything all the time, so I take a best guess at what I may possibly need. Sometimes I guess wrong - and get shut down. Although difficult for me to rein in and stop short of my goal, safety and controlling risk remains the primary objective out there. But, yes, in this case, rope could have been a gamechanger.
