Have you ever missed a shot because your power pack wasn't powerful or fast enough for recycling times to keep up? In this first look behind the scenes video, we'll test out Godox's P2400 power packs paired with the R2400 ring flash using the latest parabolic umbrellas for our modifiers. Best part is, that the color remains super consistent throughout the frames.
Whether you are a beginner or pro portrait, commercial or fashion photographer, let's put the Godox system to the test in a real-world situation. Our concept is simple. Capture an amazingly talented hula hoop artist doing her thing with 2400ws of power combined with freeze mode for extra short recycle times. The lighting was pretty straightforward, with one 158cm parabolic as the main, one smaller 88cm parabolic as the rim light, one head on the background, and one suspended from above as a separation light.

Hello and thanks for the video. What adapter did you use to mount the ring flash unto the parabolic reflector.

Great shot you captured and nice video to show what you can do with the P2400. I'm very interested in this pack but have one concern/question. I believe the heads only have about an 11' cord, which would make it hard to say, run one light up on a boom with another light off to the side or something similar. So how did you run the one light up in the rafters, lighting the smoke? As far as I know there aren't any longer cables available yet? I do see that there is a 16' and 32' extension cable coming but not sure when? So did you have something like that to run that light in the rafters or? Also I counted 5 lights. Seems like one light near the 88 Para was an LED light? Was that just for your video or were you using that at all for the still photography? Thanks for the info.

There are 2 extension cables as you mentioned and they are "special order" as you probably saw on B&H. We used them ourselves for the video so it was certainly possible for us to get them. Arguably I don't know what that means in terms of their availability. Just that they do exist in real life. And yes, that's exactly what we had to use to get the lights up in the rafters. As to the LED light, happy to look at the exact moment your are referencing if you can give me a time stamp. But generally speaking after we get the "shot" we are going for with the real world set-up then it's not uncommon to bring in an LED for video to have something constant to use as they come in tighter to the shooting are to show product, model, us, etc.

If there is anything else I can do to be helpful, please let me know. The final think I would say about the extension is that there is a slight drop in power as the cord gets longer (naturally) but with 2400 Ws it's not going to be an issue in 99.9% of shooting scenarios. Apologies for the slight delay in responding as I happened to log-into youtube today and just saw your comment! Cheers mate. Luke

@@LukeEdmonson Thank you for your responses. Sorry I didn't log into KZbin for a few days and missed your earlier replies. I saw thise extension cords and figured there would be some power and/or recycling time issues but it sounds like they are negligible. I appreciated your thorough video. Great work! I think I was mis-identifying the one head in a reflector next to the smaller Para on the right side as an LED (about 30 sec mark]. But I see it stroking in some of the other shots as you were shooting. It has what looks like a powerpack/ballast on the light stand so I thought it might be an LED. Last question: have you found a case that can hold the pack + 2 heads and the extension cables all in one?

@@michaelbiczo1150 Nope - we haven't really put them in a cases yet. We threw one power pack and two lights in an old Bowens rolling case one time. Usually just been putting the pack in the suv and carrying it kind thing. They do feel much more robust than your typical expectations.

Hi Luke. The third light coming from behind the talent - Was that powered by a Godox 2400 as well ?

Hey Phillip, Yes, we used 2 P2400 power packs with 2 ring flashes in the parabolics & 2 regular heads for the light on the backdrop & smoke/mist.

Forgot to mention that when using two lights on the P2400 the output is halfed to 1200ws per light😊

How to use it on location, Is there any battery powered with it???
@LukeEdmonson
@LukeEdmonson 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Subrato, The P2400 is a power pack so it needs an electricity supply to work in studio and with an extension cord or generator when shooting on-location. Godox does have the AD1200pro which is a battery operated light you might look at if portability is more suited to your needs!

@@LukeEdmonson I understand this question, as you did not make it clear how it worked, simmilar to the 'scoro' and 'move' packs for Broncolor, two equally acting 'pack & head' systems, but one is a "ballast" or transformer- A\C power pack, the other is Battery pack, and we need to know this difference.

It’s amazing how much Godox has progressed first with the mobile pro platforms now this . Meanwhile Brocolor has not updated the move in probably more than a decade (competes with the ad1200) needed help from Godox to have a decent trigger and even with GODOX help can’t have TTL. Profoto continues to innovate, but its becoming generic in terms of color accuracy.
