A complete monster. How someone can rise from nothing to become so powerful abd untouchable is frightening. Never brought to justice, he truly got away with it. Even in death he wins as the council where he is buried wont exhume his body despite the wishes of families who have loved ones buried in the same cemetery. Their reasoning is because he is encased in concrete it would be too expensive. So even in death he gets his own way. Sickening isn't it. Thanks for this one Chris and i hope Vickie and yourself are both well.

Good but disturbing video. You were parked, I believe, on Devonshire Street at the start of the video. I was born opposite Devonshire Street on Bury New Road, There is a block of flats on the site now. I remember his old house on Great Clowes Street.

Very interesting insight into the showbiz origins of this horrible individual's undeserved rise to fame and power. I was in my late teens when The Smiths first appeared on TOTP and instantly loved them; they were so different. I'd have to disagree about the track Panic being about Savile. To me, it will always be a hymn to the dreadful music that was prolific in the 80's. I would have been quite happy to 'burn down the disco' and 'hang the blessed DJ' because discos, clubs and DJs never listened to what you requested to be played, it was always the rubbish they wanted to be put on and the stuff in the charts. It was mind-numbing. 'Because the music that they constantly play says nothing to me about my life' ...... spot on! I'm a lifelong fan of British true crime and have just discovered your channel which covers my favourite genre, the obscure, little-known and almost forgotten cases and the stories behind them. Keep up the good work!

Hi Chris & Victoria, fantastic video & you're so right ...by starting at the beginning 👌. I know from someone very VERY HIGH UP. That on 3 occasions (police) went to arrest Mr Devil someone would walk in & say " it's ok we've got this" 😡. Keep up the great work & stay safe / well. 👍

We have a future video planned on the story surrounding a network of child abusers, but it's going to be a big story and one which may see a fair bit of abuse being targeted at us, as many celebrities and personalities at the very top have been named. From politicians to actors and singers and those in the police.

@DaysofHorror9 ай бұрын
Many thanks Roy and welcome aboard! This video has been sort-of planned for a while but we just kept putting it off for obvious reasons. People want to forget this vile creature, which we both understand why. But on the other hand, quite a few had been asking us if we would ever think of doing a video on Savile. We decided we would, but we didnt really want to mention too much about what he actually did. So we decided to look at his early beginnings in Salford and Manchester and where we feel his reign of terror began. His stint on Top of the Pops for instance and how he seemed to become famous overnight, we think had become to catalyst for what he would get up to over the years.

Hi love you and Vicky,s documentary blogs love the banter between you two. JIMMY SAVILLE had Cheif of Police and other round for tea each week. He always said he had a Police man who dealt with any allegations he said it tongue in cheek but then you find out it's true. Jonny Rotton called him out so BBC banded sex pistols coz jonny would not let it pass wish someone had took notice back then. Great job on this one .

Many thanks for the kind words. As for Savile, we have something in the works that, whilst isn't just about him, it covers a ring of similar offenders that goes right to the very top. We are planning on how to approach it as it is a very disturbing story and obviously involves a lot of innocent people. We aren't sure when this video will be made though, but it's something we have been planning for a while now.

Really interesting to watch because people overlook the fact that Savile was creeping around Manchester a lot and because it was so far back in his career. Most people are not around anymore to ever testify to this part of his history.Thankd for unearthing this!
@DaysofHorror8 күн бұрын
It's one we sat on the fence with in regards to filming it or not. We had been asked so many times if we would cover Savile, but we didn't want to redo what so many have done. So we looked into his early beginnings, and we were surprised to see he started off in and around Manchester.

He was one vile human being. We didnt really know whether or not to go out and film the video, but Vickie said we shouldn't keep hiding away from it. Thats why we also filmed it the way we did, with us just keeping the camera recording for most parts and making it look a little raw in places. Its something we might do again on other videos.

@DaysofHorror9 ай бұрын
We had this planned a while ago, always kind of side stepped it, but as we were travelling to Blackley and the day was dry (for a change) we just went for it. It's more of an origins story you could say, so we tried not to go into detail with his crimes. We read that the police report went back to the mid-50s and early-60s when the abuse began, which puts him in Manchester and working on Top of the Pops.

@DaysofHorror3 ай бұрын
Those of us who thankfully never had the opportunity to meet him in person, I guess it's easy now for us to say he looked seedy and that something didn't seem right about him. People like your mother who did meet him in person, I honestly hope are now doing okay. He was such an evil man, a monster in every sense of the word.

Well done Chris and Vicky, I found this take on Saviles life very interesting, you didn't need to delve into his absolute depravity to cover the sum total of the whole picture. I believe like Vicky the words of the song were about Saviles, and I use the word again (depraved life). Thanks that was very good.😊

Every time I see Savile's face it gives me a shiver, such an evil monster! Interesting to see where he started out. Even back then like you said, it was obvious there was something odd about the guy! That Smith's tune I reckon was based on him, he was always around Leeds!

As a child, back in the 70’s I was in Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital on and off for the best part of nine years of my life, occasionally Savile would visit the wards to visit the children, my mother told me that on the day of him visiting the nurses would say to the parents, that creepy man is visiting today so be aware! He even held me once as a baby, the thought of it now fills me with dread.

He procured victims for politicians, actors, musicians, TV stars, etc. It is a vast network of evil and it's at all levels of society and threats of ..."your career will be over" went hand in hand with this evil behaviour. Its mind blowing what has been going on to abuse little ones, but the cover up is so much worse.
@DaysofHorror10 ай бұрын
I originally mentioned his links to Cyril Smith and the elite with meetings in the flat in London, but decided to keep that out of this video as it's a story for hopefully another day.
@FontaineDerby9 ай бұрын
Thatcher was Savile's close friend and protector. She spent 11 New Years with him, made 5 attempts to knight Savile knowing of allegations against Savile in 1983 (knighted him in 1990), appointed him to head a task force to run Broadmoor in 1988. But Thatcher had form for covering up for and knighting her paedophile friends, such as Cyril Smith, her Parliamentary Private Secretary: Peter Morrison, and Peter Hayman.
@DaysofHorror9 ай бұрын
@FontaineDerby Cyril Smith is one we have been researching for the last few months. We have some reports and interviews linking him with networks that include celebs, police, politician's etc.I'm not sure when we will do the video, but it's one we are preparing.

And you know in 1986 a young dr who fan wrote to Jim'll fix it asking to be in a short dr who episode with colin baker, janet fielding and some sontarans which ended up happening. And it was a dvd extra of the story the two doctors which aired just after the Jim'll fix it episode because the dvd came out early 2000s. But when the bluray boxset of the full season that the two doctors is in came out in 2022, the minisode as they call it was still on it but Jimmy saviles introduction at the beginning and his segment at the end was completely removed

Great video guys, and i must say saville brings the fury out of me. This man had the freedom to do such crimes, because of those high up in parliament high up in the police. How could anyone turn a blind eye to seeing a child getting abused, these people are just as disgusting as saville himself
@DaysofHorror9 ай бұрын
I 100% agree with this. We spoke about a network of child abusers and the links with Cyril Smith and even more prominent people high up the ladder, but the audio was very poor due to how windy it had become in Manchester. But we do plan on a story covering the stories regarding a network of child abusers and the 'secret' premises in London where they used to meet up. Some say Savile was the head of the network but that would take some proving.

At least I can't think of a single person who was taken to court over it. I think the BBC has had its day now.
