Kecemasan adalah bagian dari hidup manusia, karena nenek moyang kita adalah manusia purba yang dulu harus khawatir setiap hari demi bertahan hidup dan tak jadi santapan hewan liar di sabana, dan karena otak manusia punya kemampuan untuk membayangkan masa depan.
Menurut Cambridge Dictionary, kecemasan adalah perasaan gugup atau khawatir yang tidak nyaman tentang sesuatu yang sedang terjadi atau mungkin terjadi di masa depan.
