One thing that really stood out to me was the dynamics. You can hear the woodwinds, the melody never gets drowned out. I love the subtle crescendos and accents which really brought it all together. SU was my favorite for a long time but Jackson is THAT band

Jackson sounds really good this year. Balance is almost perfect. I think the trumpets could benefit from more "bodies", but the ones they have are maxing and that's all you can ask for.

Every since I was 14 years old I made my plan to attend Jackson State University to join the Marching Band and work as a Deputy Sheriff with the Hinds County Sheriff's Department because the how Dr.Little is directing the band that's the same way how I want direct my marching band after graduating from Jackson State University and as a J5 Drum Major I want to be the one directs the percussion section and I was want to help donate new band instruments to Jackson State University and I also thought about becoming the Drumline Captain or maybe I could become the Trumpet Section Leader and sometimes I thought working with a High School in Jackson Mississippi as a Assistant Director of Bands while pursing my Master's in Music Education and my Ph.D. in Public Administration because when I had saw that Jackson State University was performing at the Honda Battle of The Bands in 2020 I had planned to become a Snare Drummer in the War & Thunder Drumline because I realized that Jackson State University has the best band in the HBCU Nation because it has the best Doctorate Programs and I hope while attending Jackson State University I get to participate in lots of Band Activities especially the Honda Battle of the Bands, National Battle of the Bands, and lots of other Band Competitions and I hope that I get promoted to the Head J5 Drum Major before graduating from Jackson State University because that is I want to do while pursuing my Doctorate Degrees.

The sectional battles have been exposed that su just has better song selection but if didn’t notice most bands are either have a good percussion section or a trash band or a good band and a trash percussion section jsu has both a good band and Drumline and utilize they woodwinds jsu has always been more complete than su there’s a reason why su is so quiet when it comes to sectionals watch them attack me for speaking the truth su gotta have the worse fans base in the hbcu world
