As a local to the area who has been known to ride 'enthusiastically' now and then I have to say the general impression of those guys is exactly how I've always perceived them. I've done the 'Bikesafe' course a couple of times and really enjoyed the experience,I can only assume the negative comments are coming from the weekend wannabees that flood the area in the summer getting their ambitions and capabilities confused as they cause accidents by thinking they're on a hot lap of the Island. After a weekend of accidents ( often involving visitors) there is sometimes a push back probably due to pressure from the locals, the anti bike attitude generally seems to have gone when Brunstrom retired years ago. Don't take the p*ss with your riding and I've found live and let live works well, and yes,I do run race cans but otherwise my bikes conform regarding plate size etc. I've had some very spirited rides in company with marked Police bikes when it's been safe to do so,they are enthusiast's as well and don't seem to mind giving impromtu riding lessons sometimes. Nice series Andy, look forward to the next one.

Another good vlog Andy and hopefully rebuilding bridges between bikers and the traffic police in Wales. Many still remember the antics of Brunstrom and the Mad Mullah of the Traffic Taleban nickname which no doubt boosted his massive ego. Great to see the North Wales roads being policed with common sense and education as opposed to Brunstroms iron rod approach. Personally, have never had a problem with traffic police. One had a complete sense of humour bypass many years ago when a mate of mine changed lanes on the M62 without looking but who knows what the cop had spent the previous few hours dealing with. Can feel a Snowdonia road trip coming on.

Don’t worry too much about triggering your Helite, it takes a quite hefty pull. I have mine so when I get off the bike the lanyard just goes tight & reminds me not to walk away! It’s loose enough to stand up on the pegs too. Hope I’m not tempting fate by saying I’ve never set it off by mistake!

Great video, really interesting to view from the police's side. We all like a bit of 'fun' on our bikes and its easy to forget theres a biker inside that police helmet. On noise levels with the expected increase of EV cars and bikes even a stamped legal OEM exhaust is soon going to sound loud to some. I for one don't want to be screwed down any more on sound (and I don't want an EV) so although years ago I dabbled nowadays I just leave as standard. Having said that a Street triple is a nice 'loud' as standard. Its the burbling I like rather than just out and out exhaust noise. As for MOTs there are less Bike MOT stations than there were afew years ago and alot of them will ask you to make the bike standard for the day, and you do what you want the day after, as they want no agro which may affect their MOT licence. They get approx £30 for their time (which covers test time, computer and printer) and any 'iffy' parts also slow them down while they assess them and decide, which just p1sses them off.

As an ex copper, I can attest that you still do always feel a bit ‘weird’ when you follow, or have a bike cop behind you. I think that’s a healthy response though. As I’ve seen through the looking glass, I can say that most bike cops are just like you and I, just want to enjoy the ride too. If you act and behave like a dick, then guess what, you’re gonna get stopped. But ride responsibly and stick mostly to the limits, you’ll be fine. Great set of vids so far Andy, looking forward to number 3. All the best.

Matt just asked TMF this but you might have an answer to it as well. I am trying to fit regulation size L plates to my grandsons bike but its proving to be a nightmare as they are so large. Did you have any leeway if you spotted an L plate that had been "trimmed ". Back in the 60's we use to wrap the rear one around a suspension leg 😉

Do not agree in Wales its not the case when you were a cop if a senior citizen was doing a so called 32 in a 30 what woiuld you have done ?? would you also have hidden in a horse box and jumped up with your speed gun fact just outside Mold !!!!!!!! Well this happened to me and my motherinlaw so I dont go with this bullshit sorry !! and if you do not beleive me look at historic news paper clips What does mostly to the limits mean in England sensible cops in Wales cops with nothing better to do !!!!!!!!! Just give them a ticket makes us look good safety and all that yea !!!!!!!!!!!!!
