I don't know if it means a different definition and different parts of the country. But in 2012 when I went back to college. I use two Pell grants along with my VA bill. And the main reason I used those was because you didn't have to pay them back. And down here in North Carolina I keep hearing that they're forgiven Pell grants. The grants you didn't have to pay back to begin with. Of course it might be the amount my total was less than 6000.
