Love the video. I was going to build my wife a coop… found your company and I’m not DIY anything. Your product is beautiful. So today I had a talk with her chickens to start working on those golden eggs. Talk to you soon…. Your website is also great. I got everything I needed. Keep putting out videos. I know it’s a lot of work but it will pay off.

I use a Sawzall for tree roots .. never sacrifice yer chainsaw in dirt :) Also, when connecting 4" x 4" or 4" x 6" together using those staggered step cuts, i would suggest cutting back 6" to 8" inches and using 2 counter sunk bolts with washers so they can't twist or become misaligned over time. 2 bolts are better than 1. We still stack railroad ties using rebarb or threaded rod to connect them all in most cases but we also do those step cuts on each row. Like you said.. it's like laying brick. Concrete base with drain rock with drain pipe is best for anything you lay on top of it.

You should look into a "digging bar". I call it my boom stick 🤣. I've cut through buried logs with that thing. It's heavy as all heck but it's basically a guillotine for roots, and hard clay.

I retired April '22 from 40 years LTL FREIGHT. Your right, Matt. I've seen some truly thoughtless and lazy drivers. However, less than most. Most drivers take great care of getting their freight delivered without damage. The greatest damage happens at the dock. About half of dock workers are full-time. And the other half are the drivers. 99% of All freight gets transferred from the truck it was picked up on... TWICE. The Origin City and then its Destination city. The docks get crazy with flying forklifts. After Cancer in 2020, I'm so glad to be out of such a contentious job. It's Now LawnCare And Chicken Time 🐓🐤🥚👊🏼😊 Cutting Grass and setting up For neighborhood Eggs. I started leveling ground today. Will send you the Build Video Completion when done.

I agree about the damage aspect. The only thing I will say is. If he is experiencing similar damage over and over then likely its a packaging issue. If it is one company then move to another.

I used to be in pigeon racing, the coop is similarly built but the other way around. Meaning, the main coop is bigger and the chicken run-or in pigeon it is called an aviary are usually smaller (a fraction). For example, a 10' x 12' coop will have a 2'x2'x8' aviary built out. Most of the pigeon coop is for perch, nest boxes, feeding and can be configured/elaborate limited only by the owners budget and imagination. Another big difference is racing pigeons costs from $100's to $1000's for good pedigree, and the equipment and feed are more costly overall. It sucks when you let them out and a hawk just kill and eat your favorite and most expensive pigeon which is part of pigeon racing.

Hi, curious, why 4x6s for the foundation boards? Would 4x4s also work? Asking because I've ordered an American 6x18 and my ground isn't level and this is how we're going to remedy that, plus I want to deep litter in the run. Thanks!

How do you attach the frame wall to the pressure treated base?

Hey I commented on this video about your ltl driver issues. I'm a very big fan of your coops. I wanted to revisit this because I saw one of your coops being delivered by another you tube channel. I see why you might have some discrentalled drivers. The pallet was built the wrong direction for safe lift gate deliveries. You need to allow the pallet jack enter the pallet from the 4 foot side of the pallet. It is safer to have the pallet hang off the side of the lift gate not the end. The driver was clearly struggling to prevent it from falling off his truck. Secondly you need to prevent your staff from over selling delivery expectations. If they live atop a huge hill and you think a driver will be capable of pushing a coop up that hill by himself you are promising something physics might deny. There are bad drivers at every ltl company, but most often upset customers are a result of inflated expectations.

QWESTION. don’ you not save the runoff in a barrel to feed the chickens rather than let all the water go towards the forest.

Have spent many many hours watching your videos and others. Have decided that you are building the absolute best coops- very thought through and excellent craftsmanship and options. HOWEVER have decided that you rather grotesquely OVERBUILD everything. You are making dorks of art. But it’s a chicken coop. It might be better to make a simpler design with less labor and materials so folks like me could actually afford to buy one . . . I’m just saying . . . 😬 ♥️🙏🧙🏻‍♂️🙏♥️
