Oh my goodness. It shows how deep foreigners appreciate our culture. A great Keerthana in a majestic raagam sung by a great singer. Your notes flow like a pravaaham. Fantastic

Sir, Good Evening. Nice to see you in that Dark Blue Shirt. Quite catchy. It would have been nice if the photograph of that American gentleman Powers was available with you and the same was displayed here; just a curiosity to see who it was. So far, I hv heard in the AIR Chennai (when I was a kid) the voice of John Higgins only. Interestingly, a few of your titbits in ON THAT NOTE serve as a Stress Reliever too. Unbelievable? Revisit 3 of your those short episodes. 1. Sembanar Kovil Vaidyanathan's AttaaNaa. 2. Nadhaswara Vidwan Uthara Kumar's Huseni demo using Sa Pa Sa and 3. Tiger Varadachari's Begada. The way you imitated them created a laugh riot @ our home as I showed it to my father and sisters. Uncontrollable Laugh, especially, as Sembanar Kovil Vaidyanathan innocently asked you, "enna Thambi, appadi Paada koodadha?" after his louder version of AttaaNaa. Look forward to hear from U such humourous incidents too in between (once in a while).

As per Wiki. Powers was the first foreigner to perform at the Tyagaraja Aradhana in Thiruvaiyaru, India.[11] Thanks for introducing a Great personality from the past to us. Jon Higgins was our loadstone for Foreigners learning our music. Harold Powers has written this book. The Background of the South Indian Rāga-System (dissertation, Princeton U., 1959)
