I’d like to buy one of this, what is the part number?

Can you make a video on the process starting on how to install on the car please. .? Thanks

Only works on a driven wheel. Need to swap rotors to a drive wheel.

My question is...why? Rotors do not take long to remove from most vehicles. It would take longer to install this device than it would to put the rotor on a standard lathe.

Hunter makes a good video to answer your question. Basically, the hub has a certain amount of runout, which translates to rotor runout. resurfacing a rotor on car corrects this. In my experience, it is rare that hub runout is enough to cause brake pulsation, but it happens. Also great for hub over rotor configurations like on old 90s Hondas.

It's a real pain removing brake rotors from trucks with kingpin Dana 60 axles. After removing the calipers, the bearings and hub have to be removed/repaced, and the wheel studs have to be pressed out and back into the new rotors. Then you have to repack and reset the wheel bearings. Much easier to just turn the rotors in place on those trucks.

my rotors are 90 dollars each it is so worth it to me , plus i know its done right

you can use oil on that to extend carbide cutter life

Or at the least use water

@@RandomsFandom No, cast iron cuts best dry. Besides ending up with a mess and oil penetrating your rotor...Never use oil when cutting a brake drum or rotor...
@RandomsFandom3 жыл бұрын
@@drrjim use oil and just clean it... while cast is “self lubricating”, the cutters are not....these machines are poorly designed, and you’re poorly educated or lazy...it’s not like you couldn’t slip them into a parts washer.

@@RandomsFandom I am poorly educated or lazy.? 45 years automotive machine shop manager says differently. Spend some time and look at every video on KZbin and not one person will be using oil. Look at every manual on turning brake drums and rotors. Then tell me who is poorly educated on the subject.
@RandomsFandom3 жыл бұрын
@@drrjim probably why you don’t get good results. Cutting fluid or oil is integral to getting a precision part

Man i see plenty of videos of people using the kwik lathe but not one of someone showing how to install it on the damn car ! Can someone make a video on the install of the unit please ?..

I went to Kwik lathe's web site and it seems they only sell parts, did not see any whole units. I went to OTC and their site could not figure it out. So who sells these?

I am looking for this machine, but it does not exist in our country. I ask you to write the measurements of each piece to make on behalf of the owners of the workshop. Please reply and thank you

I noticed you're not using a silencer band on the disc. Does it not affect the finish?

ctordtor I just tried it without the band, and I can't tell a difference. I just wasted $30.

How do you use this on a non driven hub
@ctordtor2 жыл бұрын
If I remember right, the machine itself spins the rotor but I just made a recording of it. I'm not the guy who owns it or ran it.
