Thank you so much Ian for talking about your brain injury and bringing awareness to it. More awareness and understanding is getting out there to the public which is great. I had an accident in 1997 and have been living with my brain injury for little over 20 years. It can be challenging in some areas but I try my best everyday. All my best to you and your future Ian.

As a manly fan Ian is a legend and I was and am a huge fan of his footy . As an adult man and father of boys , Ian is an inspiration and wonderful example of a man with the upmost courage , determination, generosity, caring and compassion. Long may Ian grace our world and I hope he continues to have a great life after facing such adversity and hardship. Not only a legend on the field but bigger than that off it .

Ian Roberts - LEGEND PLAYER !!
@connorduke46198 жыл бұрын
Roberts shows here a terrific courage and dignity shown on a surprisingly wide range of issues. So he's surely a role model for many people. And one heck if a player as well, I would have Roberts for sure in my all-time Blues 17. Perhaps even the typical gay obsession with fitness gave him an edge as he never carried a spare tire around the middle, apparently not even now.

@roughgooch78596 жыл бұрын
He definitely shattered the image of what people expected of a gay man as he would be the last person you’d expect to come out as he was an aggressive, hard hitting enforcer. Mario Fenech who we all know has a highlight reel of stinks would tell you that if you were a gay man back in that era you were perceived as weak but he also said that Ian changed his perception forever when he came out.

I hated Manly & never been a fan of the Bunny’s but in regards to one of or even the’ toughest n hardest player ever Ian Roberts was definitely a candidate, the man is totally underestimated due primarily to his sexuality & the injuries/time on the bench he sustained in his career, he was frightening at his peak, Speed, strength, athleticism, ball skills attack or defence he was the total package n one of the most lethal front rowers ever
