It's 2024, i'm in my midlife, maybe it's a midlife crisis but i'm suddenly excited to grow hay.

We’ve all become so independent living , thinking that life would be easier with technology and we’re moving too fast

Hay stacks using a pole is the best way to stack hay. The hay is keept almost 100% percent intact. In comparision the bales are expensive and result in a lot of waste. Using a pole and a podium you ca stack even 10000lbs of hay. The hay will preserve for at least 5 years.

A haystack didn't require a bank loan to pay off the costs of all the equipment. These were times of self sufficient people.

I’m interested in doing this to bale graze all winter. How do these handle high winds? We get 80mph. I’d hate for all our hard work to just blow away to Kansas….

it’s only in these modern times that we raise children to send them away when they grow up and be independent. that is a new philosophy the old people used to raise their children to stay with them and build their community not to leave and be independent

I wonder how much the use of hay balers is due to the demand to pay property taxes.

Unfortunately, you're right. Property taxes force us to make our property maximum productive, hence, the old fashion ways cannot compete.
