On the Job: Dare MedFlight Pilot

In this week's segment of On the Job, join host Rich Coleman, as he takes off with Dare MedFlight and learns firsthand what it’s like to have an office in the sky. Dare MedFlight Pilot Andy Reed, a U.S. Army veteran and Dare County EMS employee for the last five years, talks about the challenges faced in flight and what makes Dare County a great place to live and work.
Dare MedFlight is one of the few county-owned aeromedical operations in the nation. With a dedicated staff of five pilots, two mechanics, and 12 flight paramedics, the service drastically reduces transport times for patients needing rapid transfer for time-sensitive medical interventions at hospitals outside of Dare County providing trauma, heart attack, stroke, burn and other critical care services.
