Nice shooting - and it just shows how good the 99s is. I bought one several months ago and cant believe its accuracy. I only shoot good quality springers and the 99s can give a well tuned 98 a run for it money. OK the 98's are fantastic and I generally use them for HFT, however my next project is another 99s with a bit of further tuning. Keep up this great work.

Hi Vin, I would be happy shooting like that on a warm day!!.I have a 35,35E,77, 80 and 97. All fantastic guns way beyond my capabilities. I need a lot more practice when the weather gets warmer. (Too old for the cold).

@@vincentenglish8489 get one if you can. I've got an Hw97kt in a synthetic stock in 22 and thought that was accurate until I shot this. I was gonna say I was using QYS streamlined pellets 9.58 and they are absolutely brilliant in that gun as well. Very tight groups

@@dirtyharry5957 Great stuff mate 👍 it's weird how the two same types of rifles can love or hate the same pellets and shows the importance of testing as many different pellets as possible to find the right one 👍 as for a 98 maybe once I've got an 85 again or maybe a 57 😉

Vin what sling options do I Have for a polymer body springer with no specific sling mounting points , cheers buddy
@vincentenglish84898 ай бұрын
You should still be able to use a standard two point sling. Get a normal two piece barrel sling mount and a screw in rear stud as you would on a wooden stock. I have that set up on my polymer HW97 which is a heavy rifle and I've had no issues. 👍👍

Here's an Interesting theory Vin' - Atmospheric Pressure due to weather conditions will also have an effect on the "Drop". (That is, Shots, won't drop as much in cold, low air pressure conditions) Would be good to repeat the same exercise in Hot, high air pressure weather (If we get any) Later in the year.
@vincentenglish84898 ай бұрын
Gives food for thought buddy. I know when shooting in extreme cold conditions (ie Norway) there is a noticeable change in POI when using centre fires. Never gave it much thought here in the UK using air rifles, this might be an oversight on my part. Think some testing on the range is needed. Strangely what I have noticed with my 77 using the 35metre zero I'm getting next to no drop at 50metres which just doesn't make sense.

It was the wind chill that did for me, left my gloves in the workshop, if I'd gone to fetch them I'd have stayed there drinking brews. 99s is light weight and cheap, 95 bit heavier and more expensive, 80 heavy even more expensive, 35 old school but a pukka rifle, 85 hardly see them now, 98 a 95 dressed up in an adjustable stock. Best advice find a gun shop that sells them all and try them out 👍👍👍

Great shooting Vin giving how cold it was on your hands, love the crack from the 77 mine sounds the same the crack and impact is instant. The 99s are a great rifle from all accounts and maybe just a little less power means it’s more accurate at times 🤷🏻 By the way I’d give my right arm for a range like yours I really would.
@vincentenglish84899 ай бұрын
Thanks buddy, sad thing is I know 100% these guns shoot so much more tighter groups than this. Yup the range is a beauty, 120 metres usually. Only good thing about the cold the ground was so frozen it stopped me sinking in over the top of my wellies 😉
