@@thepooaprinciple5144 Little late to the party - but if you think Des Moines is boring you should head to Southern Iowa. I'm talking on the border of Missouri kind of south. I was raised down there in a town of around 300 people. One Gas Station/Grill and that's it. You can pass through the entire town in under 5 minutes easy as there's no Traffic Lights lmao. Also, considering that more than 85 percent of Iowa's land is farmed, I don't think finding new places for farmland is the issue. Agriculture employs roughly 1 in 6 Iowans, generates tens of Billions for the economy, and Iowa farms raise ~18% of the U.S Corn Crop, ~18% of the U.S Soybean crop, and ~18% of U.S Pork (as well as ~8% of U.S Eggs, and ~4% of U.S Beef). Doesn't sound like a lot to some folks, but that's just one State out of fifty. If you want a New Age Metropolis, you aren't gonna find it in Iowa, at least not yet. That's the land of Agriculture, always has been. Only in more recent history has Des Moines turned from an Industrial City into a "Professional" City - the main professions being Insurance and Finance. Iowa moves at a slower pace. Give it another 50+ years of development, it'll be unrecognizable.

Hence my (almost rapid response). And I agree with everything you have said, it is nothing but agriculture and we as a state help the nation more than the nation even realizes and harry stine has a big role in that. As far as what im looking for, im not sure. Slow, fast, steady....I really dont know. I guess that what happens when you live with time. All modes of motion seem equally adjusted and is difficult to discern a preference of higher value when everything is balanced.

sorry I missed you, my son was at your show however. he called me the next day and said mom you've gotta catch his show, it was one of the best ever. I do visit there quite frequently, my husband and in-laws are all from there, this afore mentioned son was born there and still lives there, he sent me this link, and when I saw the segment about the tenderloins my mind immediately went back to the days when I was I introduced to Milly's Tenderloins that was across from the main post office on University and later to Porky's that was on Euclid, now those were tenderloins, haven't had the pleasure of Jethro's but that is on my to do list when I visit next
