I struggled with addiction for almost 10 years. I have been in and out of jail/prison for years. Now I am working on my bachelors degree in psychology. This story is based on my own personal opinion and experiences.

I found your channel a few days ago and started getting recommended a ton of KZbinrs who are recovering addicts, I just wanted to say thank you because all of your (and others) stories really help. I've never had any help with recovering and I've never told anyone about my addiction outside of the people that used with me. So it's just really nice to finally feel like I'm not alone in it. I've been good for awhile now, probably three years, not exactly sure, but it's been very lonely because my family and friends are almost entirely addicts.

I think a lot of people don’t understand that forgiving someone doesn’t excuse their behavior. Like you said it’s not for them it’s for you. It takes more energy to be angry then it does to be happy.

If you’re codependent aka addicted to a person you’re going to basically put up with anything you have to to keep they person around. It’s a miserable wild amazing loving tint. Very hard thing to cope with.
@rachelzuckett7413
@rachelzuckett7413 4 жыл бұрын
like she said tho, she did her dirt too. it's much easier to "forgive" someone when you feel guilty for things you've done as well. you basically end up holding each other hostage because neither agrees who did who dirtier. it's a very toxic thing that makes little sense to those not involved. but it's easier to get to that point than you think. and if/when you come out on the other side and see through the veil of addiction and love and lust you see things much clearer and that's where forgiveness starts. in my experience, anyway.

i'm sure it's easier to trust him when she isn't into the drugs and dealing and shit anymore. what's he gonna do to her? when you're in a relationship and you're both addicts and both doing illegal stuff, the upper hand goes back and forth. now that they have nothing to gain from each other it takes all that bullshit away. i'd bet my own money that she doesn't help him financially or anything if she's not a hundred percent certain he's sober.

Put on probation and finally was in jail for a 4 year meth felony. Family got me a decent lawyer and got it reduced to a Misdemeanor and Six months in a upstate New York Jail. Was enough for me. Now have great wife and children and have not been in trouble sense. Congratulations to you.

This is a crazy life. It is so different from what I know. I couldn't sleep and started binge watching. What an education I've gotten! The only person I ever knew who went prison was my business attorney. It sounds like a incredibly stressful and unhealthy way to live. I was on opiates for 4 days after my leg was crushed in a motorcycle accident and I have no idea why someone would take them voluntarily. When I went to the bathroom I thought I was having a baby it hurt so much. Its entertaining though. I just don't understand the lifestyle. (Married one woman, 2 kids, College, Army, and a house in the burbs- calm but not a boring life)

My heart was beating out of my Throat just listening to this harrowing story! But the fact you can candidly speak about this years later without all the emotions you were feeling at the time. Fear, Rage, Disappointment, Dread, confusion etc. etc. just further proves how much you’ve overcome, grown & changed!!! Hearing Randy’s Motivation for turning you in is pretty infuriating but Hindsight is definitely 20/20...but oh How the Tables Have Turned as you reiterate this story from the confines of your lovely home with your beautiful children & the true love of your life & unfortunately Randy is in Jail again... Not saying that’s a good thing because of course we all feel bad for his circumstances. It’s just an interesting turn of events; does Karma play role? Yes but it’s more so a testament that you got your life together & unfortunately Randy sadly slipped up this summer but I think he may have the mindset after being institutionalized for so long. I really do hope after he gets out that he’ll come to terms with the fact that U can’t half-ass recovery that it’s a struggle everyday to fight against the burden of addiction.

I don’t remember him at all, and he does want contact with me but I don’t know if I want to see him, and I don’t want to upset my mother by going to see him. I know it is a disease and I’ve been told before he was an addict he was a great person, and I even have siblings I’ve never seen. Addiction is cruel.

My son was responsible for everything he did, he was also an addict and a dealer. I buried him last year. One night he wanted to get high, and he did. A dealer friend of his brought him heroin/fentanyl, and that was it. Now, he sold drugs to kids, juveniles. He was the hero of his own story. His mother loved him and wanted to find the good in him. That is why I hate drugs dealers, and that is why I have little use for drug addicts. Yea yea, victims, victims all. Victims of a sickness, no one is to blame. The real victims of the game are not the playa playas, the real victims are the family’s. The friends. The children who’s parents are gone. The dogs and cats sent to the pound. And it’s a price we all pay for someone else wanting to feel good for a few hours. I’m a victim too. Sucks don’t it? I respect what you do and what you have accomplished, I am glad someone made it out. I am even a subscriber. I’m sure you and your friends got a bad deal in jail, but at least for you jail ended. The pain of lost people never stops. I so wish it did.

I just found your channel and I've been binge watching for 3 days. I'm from the 315 orginally now in Dallas and I'm very familiar with the culture so your stories are very relatable because that's the neighborhood. I'm shaking my head and all that when I watch some of your videos because it's for real! Thank you for sharing your stories and keep doing what you're doing!

I had to laugh when you talked about “T9” on the old cell phones! Pressing all those numbers was THE WORST! Haha. So thankful you’re living a full & happy life now Jess. Inspiring people every single day. 🤍🙏🏻😘

I just finished my last probation. I was on 3 different county probations and had finished the other two last year and just finished my last one on Monday. I have been doing good and doing everything I was supposed to for almost 2 years now but it feels great to finally be off probation after 5 years. I always used to not go to probation and get lots of VOPS and FTAS and I finally realized its so much better just to go, even if you dont have the money or think you may fail a drug test, its always better to go and possibly not get violated, than to for sure get violated for not going.

I wanted to hate on randy for being that guy, then I remembered I could have been randy back in my teens, not that i could do that to someone but that's just the thing, i will never (at least i will try) to pretend that i wouldnt do something like that, cause the simple fact is i dont know what i would have done being put into Randy's position. I count my lucky stars every single day of my life that I never served major jail time or ruined someone's life. I thank god everyday I made it out of the fog. I put myself into harm's way many of times, nothing major happened that I couldn't dig my way out of. You are amazing jessica keep the energy coming.

I was on the run from a probation warrant for a year. It was so horrible having to look over my shoulder all the time. I went to see my Mom, and while I was there, I had a strong gut feeling that they were coming. I packed my things and I decided to stop running. The next morning, I was cooking a huge dinner for Mom & I, and they pulled up, surrounded the house. It was a Trip! I went to court the very next morning and to prison the following day. The strange thing about it, I was so tired of running until I almost felt a slight sense of relief. I guess I was just ready to get it over. P.S.Jessica, you really need to let Randy go. If he’s that self-centered, he may not have the capacity to be a trustworthy friend. I know it’s hard, though.🖤

You should try become an interviewer. You're really good at engaging in discussion and having an open mind. I perceive you to be rather empathetic too. Stay strong chick - you're an inspiration. Ps: sort out your texas warrant - I'll bet it plagues you with anxiety every fucking day. ❤️
