I found your channel a few days ago and started getting recommended a ton of KZbinrs who are recovering addicts, I just wanted to say thank you because all of your (and others) stories really help. I've never had any help with recovering and I've never told anyone about my addiction outside of the people that used with me. So it's just really nice to finally feel like I'm not alone in it. I've been good for awhile now, probably three years, not exactly sure, but it's been very lonely because my family and friends are almost entirely addicts.

I think a lot of people don’t understand that forgiving someone doesn’t excuse their behavior. Like you said it’s not for them it’s for you. It takes more energy to be angry then it does to be happy.

If you’re codependent aka addicted to a person you’re going to basically put up with anything you have to to keep they person around. It’s a miserable wild amazing loving tint. Very hard thing to cope with.
@rachelzuckett74135 жыл бұрын
like she said tho, she did her dirt too. it's much easier to "forgive" someone when you feel guilty for things you've done as well. you basically end up holding each other hostage because neither agrees who did who dirtier. it's a very toxic thing that makes little sense to those not involved. but it's easier to get to that point than you think. and if/when you come out on the other side and see through the veil of addiction and love and lust you see things much clearer and that's where forgiveness starts. in my experience, anyway.

My heart was beating out of my Throat just listening to this harrowing story! But the fact you can candidly speak about this years later without all the emotions you were feeling at the time. Fear, Rage, Disappointment, Dread, confusion etc. etc. just further proves how much you’ve overcome, grown & changed!!! Hearing Randy’s Motivation for turning you in is pretty infuriating but Hindsight is definitely 20/20...but oh How the Tables Have Turned as you reiterate this story from the confines of your lovely home with your beautiful children & the true love of your life & unfortunately Randy is in Jail again... Not saying that’s a good thing because of course we all feel bad for his circumstances. It’s just an interesting turn of events; does Karma play role? Yes but it’s more so a testament that you got your life together & unfortunately Randy sadly slipped up this summer but I think he may have the mindset after being institutionalized for so long. I really do hope after he gets out that he’ll come to terms with the fact that U can’t half-ass recovery that it’s a struggle everyday to fight against the burden of addiction.

My son was responsible for everything he did, he was also an addict and a dealer. I buried him last year. One night he wanted to get high, and he did. A dealer friend of his brought him heroin/fentanyl, and that was it. Now, he sold drugs to kids, juveniles. He was the hero of his own story. His mother loved him and wanted to find the good in him. That is why I hate drugs dealers, and that is why I have little use for drug addicts. Yea yea, victims, victims all. Victims of a sickness, no one is to blame. The real victims of the game are not the playa playas, the real victims are the family’s. The friends. The children who’s parents are gone. The dogs and cats sent to the pound. And it’s a price we all pay for someone else wanting to feel good for a few hours. I’m a victim too. Sucks don’t it? I respect what you do and what you have accomplished, I am glad someone made it out. I am even a subscriber. I’m sure you and your friends got a bad deal in jail, but at least for you jail ended. The pain of lost people never stops. I so wish it did.

Honestly you are such an inspiration. My dad is an addict, he got so bad that he became super abusive, tried to kill me and my mother and we had to flee the city. I don’t remember him at all, and he does want contact with me but I don’t know if I want to see him, and I don’t want to upset my mother by going to see him. I know it is a disease and I’ve been told before he was an addict he was a great person, and I even have siblings I’ve never seen. Addiction is cruel.

i'm sure it's easier to trust him when she isn't into the drugs and dealing and shit anymore. what's he gonna do to her? when you're in a relationship and you're both addicts and both doing illegal stuff, the upper hand goes back and forth. now that they have nothing to gain from each other it takes all that bullshit away. i'd bet my own money that she doesn't help him financially or anything if she's not a hundred percent certain he's sober.

I have been doing good and doing everything I was supposed to for almost 2 years now but it feels great to finally be off probation after 5 years. I always used to not go to probation and get lots of VOPS and FTAS and I finally realized its so much better just to go, even if you dont have the money or think you may fail a drug test, its always better to go and possibly not get violated, than to for sure get violated for not going.

This is a crazy life. It is so different from what I know. I couldn't sleep and started binge watching. What an education I've gotten! The only person I ever knew who went prison was my business attorney. It sounds like a incredibly stressful and unhealthy way to live. I was on opiates for 4 days after my leg was crushed in a motorcycle accident and I have no idea why someone would take them voluntarily. When I went to the bathroom I thought I was having a baby it hurt so much. Its entertaining though. I just don't understand the lifestyle.
