The priest that got stabbed stayed loyal to Christ, put his hand on his attacker and said 'don't be afraid, you are forgiven' and later from hospital asked for prayers for the young man. Everything you are talking about that is how and I don't know of anyone who offers that kind of love other than Christ.

Firstly I want to say i love u as another human being and pray no harm comes to anyone who believes in other religions or has a different ways of life. We r Christians and JESUS taught us to love even our enemies. We r not here to judge anyone only our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST has the last say. I am an Assyrian Orthodox person who attends this church and my BISHOP MAR MARI EMMANUEL was preaching when this fanatical young individual walked into our congregation and started stabbing him multiple times on live TV. He wounded another one of our priests also. He is only a 15year old child who is lost or mentally unstable we dont know but the truth always prevails in the end. My Bishop after being attacked prayed and forgave him. I also forgive him and pray he finds his way in life. Godbless everyone.

As an onlooker, neither muslim nor christian, how can you say this is not part of islam? Mohammad said he would bring terror to the disbeliever... Allah says in Surah 9 29 to bring them with chains around their necks. Quran calls jews and Christians pigs and monkeys, nujjas, unclean..... this is your god speaking about Bishop Mari mar and every other nonmuslim. The vast majority of muslims are good people, and I am sure you are one of those good people, but when these types of incidents occur too often in the name of Allah. These Christian’s did not convert willingly. Of course there are exceptions but unlike Christianity that spread through willing conversion in the first few centuries in particular with many Christian’s willingly choosing death over a rejection of their faith, Islam did indeed spread by force. Christians wouldn't stab a sheikh if he denied Jesus's divinity, the Judgement comes from God not from men. This young man audaciously admitted he did it because Mar Mari talked about his prophet Mohamed. It wasn't the first time things like that and even worse happened in the name of Islam, we've seen it in Egypt, in Pakistan, in Libya, in Indonesia. That wasn't just a seperate incident, it's a connected chain of events. The verses you point to are in reference to defensive warfare. There is no abrogation in the Quran regarding verses of coexistence as those verses are informative and abrogation is only in regards to verses dealing with legal rulings. Furthermore, cutting and pasting verses or Hadith without having the proper toolkit to understand them (ie the interpretive methodology laid out in Usul al-Fiqh) is exactly why ignorant people engage in violence.
