The way he sings honestly, frankly speaking, it makes really feel like I’m watching a Disney movie seeing a Prince serenading to a Princess who usually sings to herself and to some animal friends and falling in love! His voice sounds like someone’s true love that belongs to a princess and his voice definitely sounds like a Prince! In fact, he did actually voice a Prince which is Prince Philip (named after Charles’s father) from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty (1959). I wonder what would happen if Prince Philip sang this song to Aurora. She’d be dazzled and possible join in the singing like Once Upon A Dream. God bless Bill Shirley and Prince Philip.

His lovely contemplative romantic gothic air on his face in the late english victorian high society, (later, Mr. Brett played gothic roles). Great actor and Good-looking Young and older; Sherlock Holmes!!!. Great actor Jeremy Brett. I know, he could sing, but; was he the Singer of this beautiful song of the musical?; I don´t know, but if he was, I can´t say anymore.

Unfortunately Jeremy didn't get the chance to sing in this movie. You see, he had a baritone voice, and they wanted a tenor...too bad, because I just love his voice, and his singing in the Merry Widow is fantastic😊

@@tuijak4251Yes, I knew in "Marigold", he sang as a baritone, so well in fact, and I think that Jeremy could have had an "acutter voice" when he was younger. In the role of Freddy Eynsford-Hill, he was near 30.

I've just watched this movie on DVD for the first time and wasted no time ordering a copy. A most beautiful musical! This song especially.

Y'know, I was singing this in the shower just this morning when it occurred to me quite how stalker-y the lyrics are. Ick. Still, it's a lovely song musically. One of the best bridges in musical theater. "And oh, the towering feeling...!"

I can't stand musicals. I never understood why in the world did he not just go in if he was that into her? Instead, he said ......... "Oh no thank you. I just want to dance in the street and sing about her".
