Tank hatches yes. Aircraft hatches no. Tanks and other AFV's look more alive if you can have crew visible. Aircraft, unless in a diorama where they are being rearmed, etc., look weird with open hatches - for me, it's a big no-no. Same with Naval planes with wings in the stowed position - I hate it - it detracts completely from the beauty of an aircraft, to my mind. It looks untidy, too.
