Not like it changes the meaning behind your comment, but those bikes were heavily monitored by electronics, mostly as data acquisition and used to improve after a run. The riders were still in complete control of the machine, at least the maneuvering of it, but you'd be forgetful if you thought those bikes weren't wired end to end with the newest tech available.
