On top of the Empire State Building

The last time I made it to the top of the Empire...my eyes were fixated on WTC for some reason...as a kid I used to be fascinated by those buildings (even though I'm from Cape Cod / Boston)...I was trying to spot the Statue of Liberty at night and I did so I was pointing to it...but I just kept staring at the Twin Towers. Months later they were gone...I want to re-visit NYC. only did once after that unforgettable day.

I've been up there twice. Once during the day and once at night. I highly recommend going up at night, the view is really amazing. The whole new york city skyline is lit up and the view is incredible!

I went on March 2011. Went in the morning and left the building at noon and I never saw any queues that length whatsoever. I must have just got lucky. Crowded at the observation deck though, didn't feel scary and was a lovely day for it. Sunny. Next day I went to Top of the Rock and it was rain and sleet. What a contrast. Still worth it though. Practically deserted then.

@1mokz it was amazing indeed. i filmed this in Januari 2009. There might be big lines but it`s most def worth the wait. Have fun and don`t forget your cam.

@sonnystaystrong The Empire State Building is much more iconic. The ESB is not little. The Willis Tower measures 1,451 ft while the ESB is 1,250 ft. The Willis Tower might be taller by like 200 ft but it sure doesn't make the ESB little.And did I mention the Willis Tower is owned by an NY company?

You should come to Chicago and go to the 103rd floor to see the observatory, it's awesome :D they have glass balconies too

The TOP of the empire state building is past where you guys are. Climb the ladders, then climb the slanted ladders goin up the dome-like par of the building, then your at the TOP. This is the part They dont let you go to, but People, including me, have been to the very VERY TOP before

it is awesome when you get to the top... the most scary thing i thought was the elevator ride up idk it made this clinking sound all the way up to were you had to go up stairs i went during the night time and it was in 99 and it was the coolest thing i have ever got to do ever beautiful in the night time it was windy up top and the building does sway and you can feel it thats kinda scary till your up there a few dont forget the camera dont eat before if your weak at heights trust me.
