My pops band got to open for Little Feat a few times in Atlanta in the mid 70s.. Little Feat was a soundtrack for my childhood and now I'm proud to share it with my own kids! Amazing music

Man l am truly late to the show an awesome group excellent blend of slow walkin rock and solid blues..Shit back in the early seventies l was lost after being discharged from this mans Army and way behind the curve of good music..However i'm still catchin up at age 71 and still rockin my old ass off!!

This is THE BEST version of this song. Lowell was in early tour voice, the band was hitting on ALL cylinders, a live broadcast on WBCN from King Biscuit Flour Hour and it was Halloween in Boston with an out of control audience. What could be better? Oh yeah, if I could have been there. Got to listen to it live (on the radio) and tape it though. RIP: Lowell and Richie. Pray for Paul to beat cancer. Find the whole concert and enjoy the hell out of it! Peace and Love!

One of the best bands of all time and so under appreciated. Saw them live in 1978 before Lowell died. Don't remember a whole lot other than it was a great show. Was in a small auditorium at William and Mary College... One of my all time shows and I have been to a LOT.

I think it is nonsense to compare Little Feat and their different incarnations...these guys are all my friends and family for many many years...I sincerely loved Lowell and know he was extraordinary...they ALL are in their own way and no one plays the Mandolin like Fred Tackett (whom I don't know as well as the others) but they do not deserve this type of critique...We all miss Lowell and Richie yet know the Feat live on and play on...God Bless everyone of them and THANK YOU GUYS for years of entertainment and friendship!

@@jackbailey1742 I've gotten to hang with them when not performing, like in golfing outings and birthdays. Once The Airplane and The Stones were the groups I'd seen most live. Little Feat has since supplanted them. 😊 And nothing beats getting ripped to the tits and hanging by the stage!

I saw them in the UK in 1976. At Charlton Athletic soccer club, supporting the WHO. This band was great and I clearly remember them, but not the WHO. This a great song, the keyboards are brilliant. I love Lowell George's voice and slide guitar. Another great tune by Alan Toussaint.

Saw the boys in their earliest days as the Feat at Richard's,the legendary Atlanta rock club where so many of Capricorn records honed their skills during the early seventies..I sat right in front..stage side table every night that they played..my favorite band from that era and still are..Lowell was the best..his vocals and guitar were incredible. He was one of the original lineup of the Mother's of Invention..a forgotten fact in roc

Saw them at the Newcastle City Hall (UK) in around 1976/77; one of the best live bands I ever saw. I first came across them on a TV programme in the U.K. called The Old Grey Whistle Test, when I wasn’t paying too much attention but as the film clip progressed with Little Feat playing ‘Long Distance Love’ I was annoyed I hadn’t taken notice of who they were, but I eventually managed to track down the album with it on. Great band.

Ian... Are you sure it was long distance love? I've seen R n R doc. And Fatman on old grey, but not LDL...,
@ianhepplewhite83344 жыл бұрын
Thomas Clarke Hello Thomas, yes it was definitely LDL. It was very laid back & a slow number. When I eventually found the album and saw the track, I knew that was it. I think I have since seen the very clip on KZbin, I’ll have to see if I can find it again. 😁👍

Unfortunately I was only a little kid when Lowell was around and the Feat were at their peak. I did have the chance to see them in '91 with Craig Fuller at the front when they played with the Allman Bros., but I agree that there's just something missing without Lowell. This vintage stuff is a treasure. Thank you so much for posting this! JIP (Jam In Peace) Lowell and Ritchie

Glad you like it. This one was on Halloween, so you may have been there. I did a little googling and found a new link, so I've updated the description. (youtube won't let me put the link in the reply for some reason) We still go see Feat when they come around, but they're not the same without Lowell. Love these old recordings, there's another one out there somewhere that I downloaded from Winterland in 1976. Enjoy.

Spot on Sheila - certainly the best version that I've ever had the pleasure of listening to, just oozes class, sounds effortless but no doubt the result of many hours of hard graft. My favourite band that I never actually got to see. I remember in the UK at the time it was like "the British Invasion" being returned with top-spin, thinking oh boy so that's how this music is actually supposed to be played....

You know, I wondered if this was from that same show. I've seen Little Feat a dozen times before Lowell died, so I get the years mixed up. I even saw Lowell -- in NY City at the now-defunct Bottom Line -- on his solo tour the month before he died in '79. Sadly, I agree with you about Little Feat, post-Lowell. I saw them a few months ago at The Winery in NYC, and it's just not the same. Fred Tackett can certainly play the guitar but it's a different vibe. I miss Lowell's growl.
