Thanks Ken!! I have thought about doing a video on just some of the different scenes on the Payless and there are a bunch. Just giving some background on the what and why for each individual scene. Anyway glad your enjoying the vids. Rich

Everyone who watches this layout should "smash" the like button! Excited to see more. I remember the article that introduced your layout many years ago.

Thank You Bryan!!! Yea that was a while back.......Sept/Oct 1996 issue of the Gazette. She actually began in 1993 and has been a pretty steady project ever since. But like all things she is what I would consider finished, although there are many little "things" that I am updating and re-doing. So I guess a layout is never really finished? Thanks again!! I had lived in Modesto a few years back. My 2 daughters still live there and my son lives here with me in Savannah. So you can say I am very formulary with that whole valley area there.

Hmm... seems the roads up on the hill by the Mill and around the small town are single lane.
@richwhite43312 жыл бұрын
Yea these backwoods dirt roads are only 10 to 12 feet wide.

Love the layout. Did you ever get to record the whole layout professionally like you mentioned in an earlier video?

Not Yet Frank, I have been really busy with selling my kits lately and also working on new ones. I just added new led lighting to the garage which really makes a difference and have been revising some of the scenes also. One of my sons knows a fella that does that for a living so I just need to arrange a meeting with him to let him review that layout. I am also planning on doing a series of short, maybe 5+ minute videos on the many different scenes on the Payless. Showing all the little details in the scene and the things that make each scene different and interesting. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Rich

Rich is there a noticeable difference between on30 and On3? Is it just the real world trains/gauge that are different? I know it’s like different railroads that used different gauges and each scale is meant to model that, but besides pretending there is a 6 inch difference in track width, IS there a difference in the model train world?
@TheFrogfeeder4 жыл бұрын
I ask because I have on3 stuff right now, but the diorama I want to make is going to have tight turns and I need to run a 0-4-0 to make the turns, I could only find what I wanted in a on30... it’s gonna be the same right, I would have to pretend it’s different?
@richwhite43314 жыл бұрын
@@TheFrogfeeder Its the same, only difference is the width of the track!! Good luck with your build. Remember PUSH your limits!!!
@TheFrogfeeder4 жыл бұрын
@@richwhite4331 thankyou for clearing that up for me. Funny you should mention pushing my limits, my new question now is: can I take an old O scale Lionel car that’s probably 3 rails, and convert it to On30 fairly easily or is that not possible? Lol I need a crane of some sort and there’s a ton of old Lionel O scale train car ones on eBay for reasonable prices...
