Idk if this is "fastcore" or "thrashcore" or just punky "poweviolence" a la Spazz, bit who cares because it fucking rules. Ona Snop is my favorite hardcore punk band of the 21st century, no cap

Fastcore is just grindcore. You can’t change my mind.
@iachtulhu14206 ай бұрын
Nah. Fastcore is pure punk in riffs, attitude and sound. Grindcore has a little bit more metallic influence but the degree of such influences vary widely from band to band. Fastcore is usually just sped-up hardcore played at insane BPMs with all of the trappings of hardcore punk. Think Siege, Larm, Septic Death, Heresy, Ripcord, early DRI, Coke Bust and stuff like that. Grindcore is that + little bit of primitive metal. There is difference between Coke Bust and stuff like Hellnation, Ona Snop and bands like Insect Warfare, Internal Rot, Archagatus.. Similar to untrained ear, though, there's no denying that. I usually don't mind people conflating the two. Sometimes the boundaries get a little bit blurry, but to me it's obvious that Ona Snop is not grindcore band, no matter how much blast beats and songs they pack per album.

Awesome record, very interesting mix of fastcore and PV Edit: After some time I now understand this is just fastcore, a separate genre from Powerviolence

What is the difference between mince, grind, stench, and fast core??? Ahhhh
@xdumpstrspunionx9024 жыл бұрын
powerviolence/Fastcore tends to be more punk than grindcore, which leans more toward the metal side of things. Mince tends to be more politically driven grind. stench I believe leads more towards a sludgy crust sound. and myself personally I don't see much difference between powerviolence and Fastcore, I think it just depends on what each individual artist decides to call it. myself personally when referring to the powerviolence/Fastcore genre, I just refer to it as powerviolence. I'm not really much of a wiz kid or a stickler know-it-all though so I don't really know. that's just how I see it.
@lzw33 жыл бұрын
@@xdumpstrspunionx902 pretty much. the main distinction i would make is that fastcore/thrashcore is pretty much very very fast hardcore punk, while powerviolence has slow punk sections too and lots of stop-starting and tempo changes

@@evilwarnings2419 aren't slam vocals pretty much the same thing as death metal vocals? Cuz if there's anything that separates the 2, it's probably something not even worth mentioning
