Love it. Might drop by local dance studio to learn it. Very excited about the idea.

Tellement charismatique en plus de danser comme une reine! Et surtout on ressent le thème et les émotions sur les expressions du visage et jusqu’au bout des doigts.😍♥️

As much as I love Onaku and Hitireva, and I want her to win, this was disappointing. Her solo when she previously competed back in 2017 was better, but she didn't win then. And there's too much politics in the Heiva as several dancers that wasn't technically good, won over those that were, which is weird when they are to pick the best dancer. Love her costume, her whole look. And even though technique isn't lacking, it's the the choreo that was the weak point for me. This is just my personal opinion, doesn't mean I'm right. I've watched the Heiva every year since 2009 which was when I started to dance, quit 3 years ago. Another dancer had a better choeo, which also showcased more steps (basics), as the Heiva is strict, and full of rules, but her Fa'arapu was weaker than Onaku's which often separates the winner from the runner up. Expected more tbh. But the Heiva is not over yet. My favorite group, Tamariki Poerani is also competing this year, so we'll see. Onaku has danced with them for years, after being with Moeata's dance school. So we'll see who wins the title of Best Female/Male dancer of 2022. Nana bisous. Update: After watching Natalia’s solo, I’m rooting for her, not only because she’s my favorite, but she was clearly the better dancer, out of all of the candidates up until now so far in the competition. Onaku should be runner up tho. Natalia is younger, stronger and technically better than Onaku, even though they both are former Tamariki Poerani dancers, unless Onaku is still with the group. Onaku did well. But not as well as Natalia Louvat with her simple, yet strong performance!

@@vaughanmitchell4841 Same. I love her, and her dancing. But yes high expectations. This is not her 1st time, and I know she’s good. My Ra’atira who has danced with Nonahere at the Heiva, and was taught by Makau and Kohai, says she’d make a wonderful ambassador. Also Hitireva always pulls it out of the bag when it comes to drumming and choreography. Why I’m disappointed. Maybe not so weird. 3 years and on going with this pandemic, has changed people. Also Onaku recently became a mom for the 1st time, and one can’t even tell by looking at her.

@@rikiliufau1244 Ofc oure aunty, just high expectations knowing it’s Onaku, and who she represents. But I’m not mad. My favorite group, Tamariki Poerani is also competing, Onaku still dances with them, and they always have technically strong dancers, knowing the legacy of Makau. We’ll see😘😝 Nana.

@@vaughanmitchell4841 Personally I prefer Bora Bora drumming. More exciting and uses different types of instruments. I also tru and watch Heiva I Bora Bora every year as well. I love how they dance in sand, how the Heiva used to be done a long time ago. Their dancers may not be as refined as those in Tahiti, and they are being looked down upon by Tahitians for being solely “hotel dancing”, but I like it. Bora Bora is also known to be more sexy. Short pareos etc.

Madre de Dios!!! Que mujer magníficamente bella y sensual!!!
That warp speed hip shimmy was amazing to watch! I loved the drums, so expressive. I think the women's dancing has a more limited range of movement, I prefer the men's which is more dynamic, but that female fast hip shimmy looks very hard to do. Gorgeous woman!
@alanfoster6589Ай бұрын
It's called "fa'arapu". Which means "to spin", in Tahitian. The really good dancers (as demonstrated here) can do it while crouching on tiptoes and moving around, or standing on one leg, etc. The best I've ever seen can reverse it, without pausing, while performing.
@kilipaki87oritahitiАй бұрын
Not a shimmy. Shimmy doesn’t look like this. It’s Fa’arapu and the movement comes from the stomach together with our knees. I’m not even a woman and I can do this. I don’t understand what you mean by limited rane if movement, but most people who don’t dance Ori Tahiti thinks it’s boring or too easy because they lack body awareness and don’t understand how hard it actually is and how much muscle power as well as flexibility etc. it takes to be able to do this. They only see “shaking” and thinks that it. But if they knew what they are dancing, the stories and the history it would be more than just “shimmy”!
