The two big problems with this line is that they do not accept Travel cards between Kings Cross St Pancras- Stratford International and the seats feel like sitting in a 2004 Volkswagen Passat Leather Passenger Seat, If you don't know how that feels try it out and see what kind of back pain and irritation you will get from it.

I recently travelled on the Javelin from St Pancras - Dover Priory. Fast, comfortable and surprisingly clean.

What time was this ride filmed and how much were the tickets? The train sounds smooth and looks very light and airy inside. A big step in the right driection! :-)

@albaniaismylife Eaven though it's not realy a high speed train (starts at 250 km/h) its still a long distance service. Here in Germany we have special fees for our high speed trains and at least extra payment for long distance trains. This makes sense since regional travellers don't block the trains for long distance travellers. But I wonder why this Javelin don't stop at Stratford. Which tranis stop at Stratford International?

@ObviouslyOutplayed95 ...erm...France have made rather a success of their own TGV, which is by far and away, the very best in the world. The new Hitachi powered trains are as plastic as General Motors and are about as believable as a comfortable means of transport. If we have everything made to a budget, this is what we get. It is truly awful, as you will find if you travel on one. Don't believe the hype about your new Californian HSR et al. It will be the same.

visit - gcrailway.co.uk/About_Us/history.aspx which is an interesting read re: high speed rail lines. You can still have a ride on bits of it too!

@ObviouslyOutplayed95 Pas de Probleme! I thought you were a self-Yanking American too! We'll never catchup with europe, I think we seem to be the world leaders in messing it up and getting the mucky end of the stick for twice the price. America do the same but worse. Europe at least did their very best when the money and the space and the enthusiasm was there. Take our 'new' HSR1 link to the midlands. It was made the first time in 1899 and closed in the 60's.

Very disappointing. Cheap looking carriage, bumpy ride and no film-making experience. Looks like Britain loses magnificently once again.
