Fun fact : This is the exact car they used for recording the engine sounds for Dirt Rally 2.0/EA WRC video games. This is the 1985 Algarve Rally chassis I believe

Beautiful! Precious little in-car video exists from 1985 and 1986, so this is a gift. I'd love to see a full gravel stage from inside, driven the way it was back then... no hand brake. It's understandable that the chances of that ever happening are slim to none, but it would still be cool. Thank you!

A 1.8L engine making 4-500ish hp in race spec is crazy. It’s even crazier that they tested it under extreme conditions and it made almost 1000hp at 5 bar of boost. One day I’d love to do a series twincharger setup like this where it doesn’t have a bypass valve or electromagnetic clutch on the supercharger and strap it to a v8. Bigger turbo and a whipple supercharger should work wonders

Cette voiture est LÉGENDAIRE! Des accélérations de F1 sur des routes ouvertes avec un tout petit moteur 1600cc si ma mémoire est bonne, juste un tout petit peu aidé par 3 fois rien... un énorme compresseur et deux gros turbos 😂 La caisse la plus WTF ever pour moi. Une merveille de bestialité. Je ne dis pas de brutalité parcequ'apparemment elle était quand-même étonnamment très saine de comportement, pas piégeuse... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Bah ouai sinon elle aurait un bilan bien plus catastrophique que deux morts en Corse 🤷🏻‍♂️
