Actually most race car drivers could provided they had practice runs. But the impressive thing about rally is that you don't get practice runs, its one shot with only pacenotes and wrecky knowledge guiding you. So yes, most drivers could outpace him, but not in a true rally situation like this.

good question. it seems like he deactivated it on the gravel part of the stage and then activated it back on the tarmac. could be something to do with the suspension.

I'd imagine it's electronic suspension. It may loosen up the struts and even raise the ride height when they're on gravel.

It’s a sequential box, so you slap it forward or back for gear changes, WAY quicker than a traditional stick

nah lol its prepared to be that way. since they dont really use the final gear in rally the other gears are shorter so the final gear comes way faster in straight lines. It impacts the straight line speed a lot

He should master left foot braking. Its too dangerous to rally with right foot braking this kind of high power race car. And no need using clutch with dog transmission.

yuzik when you look closely, you can see that he brakes with his left foot when he needs to. No need to leftfoot brake all the time.. And not every dog-trans works without clutch. Mostly on downshift you need to clutch, and downshift area are breaking area too ;) and left foot braking has one main reason, and it is to shift weight to the front wheels on fast turns..

+donblub any dog transmission can work without a clutch, you just need a sensor so it blips the throttle automatically on downshift

Yes, I assume it was TC for the portion of gravel. After they got back to tarmac the co driver turn it off again

It's a sequential, it will take that for days, he was even clutching on some down shifts which you don't have to do.

You see the co-driver hold a book and flip the pages. In other rally racing onboard videos, you hear the co-driver read out loud. It makes sense that they use an intercom, of course because they drive a loud car and wear helmets. Do other rally racing onboard videos use an auxiliary audio out connection of the intercom, for the video, and did they not do that in this video? Maybe the maker of the video decided that the viewer should only enjoy the sound of the car, not the voice of the co-driver.
