Gotta say I saw this coming. The idea with the V12 was originally billed as on or two of them taking the place of four or five six cylinder motors. we all knew dam well that people would take advantage of the stationary Power head and cram as many as possible onto a transom. It's almost time to take bets on the Super Charged V 12. I'm hoping for 800HP Instead of the probable 750.
@thebritishboatguy31302 жыл бұрын
Quite right. if you follow 7 marine as a benchmark with the now discontinued 627. The V12's are a high torque, super quiet motor rather than a racing variant like the 450's, so big boats and motor yachts are the target audience. They are also way lighter and cleaner than the 7 marines.

The more engines you hang off the back, the more drag you create. Which is eating up the additional horsepower, along with the extra weight and fuel. Doesn't stop people from trying, though. They need to figure a way to have all those engines running two gear cases, instead of six. Maybe three props, at most. Then it would really fly.
@paulmaul21862 жыл бұрын
I always wondered about that. They look cool but how much real, extra oomph do you get going from 4 to 5, or 5 to 6? Better pick up? Higher top speed? How much?

So….they need an inboard then.
@GoldenCroc2 жыл бұрын

Agree with your comments. I hear 'this boat is truly sensational...' and think... really? I mean, to make this more sensational you'd just fit a 7th engine.. then an 8th, or 9th, or 7000th engine.. I find clever design more sensational.. like the drop down balcony's which I've seen on Galeon GTs - or the electric hydrofoil recently show cased.. This boat strikes me as the Gillette marketing of boats... TURBO MAX PRO with 5 blades, for the closest shave yet.... next year then out comes TURBO MAX PRO ELITE with 6 blades and green rubberised handle....

On another video somebody commented that you can get a viking 60 for around the same money. The beam width and the draft are very similar. True the viking has A fly bridge which gives you room on the viking for master cabin plus two twin cabins plus multiple heads and large salon with galley. So why is this this boat 60 feet long? Is it the bait tanks and freezers and ice makers that take up space? Is it the walk-in auxiliary mechanical room? The viking 60 correct me if I'm wrong:. Looks like the viking 60 does not give adequate access to your electrical/pump room/generator room. Or another boat is the Pardo 60. Not a fishing boat, but a performance cruiser. Somebody reply please. What are the compromises with the estrella? What is the reason for Less cabin space less sleeper space? Is it because the estrella has tanks for storing fish? But I can clue in the people who say the outboards are gas guzzlers. Probably you don't have to run all the engines. You can turn them on individually.
