I love how you manage to maintain this installation without disturbing the work of the original designer. One of my favourite installation on this channel

You all did a wonderful job considering many restraints from Ms. Betty. Crazy gardener(loose term) whacking the hell out of Jade plant!!! Hard when it's not your design. I 💕 Love your installations. So goooood!

oh gosh, will Betty adopt me? i could just live in that backyard! wow... that is spectacular - sometimes a long work day pays off, eh? one tip with the geranium (because i have a gazillion of them) - have her gardener watch for budworms... holes in the buds, tiny little green worm that turns into a moth (you may know of it)... get some Cap'n Jack's dead bug and do a prevent spray and then keep on top of it... the little buggers will make a holey mess of the buds :( so in love with that yard - you should campaign for a monthly visit, haha :) have a great weekend and a happy mother's day!! :)

Love it every time you show this property, those rocks aligned in the front so meticulously are so amazing, wish I had the patience. I have a dry River rock stream path in my yard, which consists of the rocks landing wherever they fall😁 I gasped with dread regarding the Jade even as your sentence began, “the gardener…“ I have had the same experience in my front yard living in a gated community with hired gardeners… enough said. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with all of us, hope you have a fabulous and blessed Mother’s Day with your family this weekend!

I think the geraniums look great and go well with succulents. They do originate from South Africa as do many succulents in dry areas. Have you ever thought of tying some bromeliads on the trunks of palms? Some types do really well mounted that way and will grow up the trunk without hurting the palm. Maybe too Floridian?!!!
@LauraEubanks2 жыл бұрын
Aeoniums are from the Canary Islands. I love your palm tree bromeliad idea!

Great job resetting all the aloes! I’m guessing the arms on the guys looks like they were in a cat fight (and lost)! Why not reset the agave attenuatas?

It looks so much better.The thing about geraniums in my opinion ,after awhile they start to look ugly when flowers die.
@robertbrewer21902 жыл бұрын
I have discovered zonal geraniums, the two and three color variegates that are grown for foliage, not flowers. They look wonderful all the time! Tough and vigorous in East Bay Area near SF Bay. I propagate them and am spreading the love in local garden giveaways.
@vickibee84512 жыл бұрын
Robert, where in the East S F bay area are you? I'd love to see some of your zonal variegated geraniums.

@@vickibee8451 San Leandro. but my things are just from the local nurseries, not specialists stock. Pretty much only clones of one I had and liked.

What?!!! Laura Geraniums are succulents! Shock you don't know this. Almost all the species come from Africa. They specifically do great in this kinda of climate like San Diego the Mediterranean type climate. One of the biggest Geranium collectors in the world lives in Southern California because of this. They are perfect for the succulent garden. Especially a lot of the species. There are many that have tubers! Some even have very fragrant flowers!

Enough with the Bromeliads. Too much of the same thing is boring to the eye. I also feel this way about Aeoniums in some installations.
