Super nostalgia! I STILL HAVE my original VHS copy of Once Upon a Forest, which I had since I was a kid! Happy 30th Anniversary to this long forgotten gem!

When Edgars family was late it always makes me bawl. Especially when he says, "Mama" all longingly. Oh great now im crying again.

At least Edgar turned out to be very lucky that he didn't lose his mother. She came back for him and I too felt sentimental of seeing them reunite. I just felt very bad for Michelle because her parents died from the poisonous gas. She breaks her heart very badly. But it's not the end for her because she has her Uncle Cornelius who's there for her. He loves her and he will take good care of her.

How I miss these kind of movies! Charlotte’s Web (1973), Ferngully: The Lasr Rainforest, Magic Sword: Quest for Camelot, Sinbad: The Legend of Seven Seas, The Secret of NIMH, Rock-a-Doodle, Planet 51, ORIGINAL Aladdin, An American Tail 1, 2, 3 & 4 (especially 1 & 3), The Swan Princess, ANIMATED The Lion King and its sequel, FIRST ”Ice Age” movie and this. And definetely not all are mentioned in this comment. People really were able to make good movies back then. I want that time back 😞

Something tells me that when Michelle heard that her parents had been killed by the gas, it broke her heart. I sure hope Cornelius will mend it. Do you suppose her uncle will mend Michelle’s broken heart?

Elaina Liotta - Of coarse Cornelius will mend Michelle's broken heart. It can take a while. Maybe even years. Besides, the end of the credits shows some very happy pictures. Cornelius reads Michelle a book. They continue to find joy in their lives. Plus, both Cornelius and Michelle still hand out with Abigail, Russell, and Edgar. The last picture even shows the Flapper Winder Ma Thing and that Cornelius and Michelle go aboard in the air with Abigail, Russell, and Edgar.

Yes. They both died upon breathing too much gas. Her uncle will take care of her.

Her parents died from the poisonous gas. It's very sad. But Michelle isn't going to be alone because she has her Uncle Cornelius who will take good care of her. Even at the end the credits shows some happy pictures of Cornelius reading her a book. Even Michelle and Cornelius still spend some time with Abigail, Russell, and Edgar. The images shows all 5 of them camping out, playing in the snow, looking through a telescope, and that they fly up in the Flapper Winger Ma Thing.
