+Leigh Silver He didn't hit her specifically because she's a woman. He knocked her out to get his revenge on Rumpelstiltskin (you know the guy who killed his love and cut off his hand). I know it wasn't a good moment from him but you made it sound like he's a domestic abuser, when he isn't. If Belle was a man, he still would have hit him.

i love Emma's tone/emotions during the lines : "Well then dark one, now that you have your power back, your going to do something for me." along with "because i still have magic and im willing to bet i can get to belle and tell her everything before you can kill me" and "DON'T TEST ME!". you can tell how pissed she is and is practically willing to die for her cause/ just had a plain old death wish should her plan fail. she is through playing around and is willing to play dirty to get shit done.

Deep breath...deep breath... I can think of at least three reasons for this that are somewhat satisfying for me. 1) After Belle left, Rumple felt that he had nothing to lose by trying to get the power back. Even when he tried to be the hero, she still didn't want him, so he might as well have the darkness again, because at least that will stay with him. He never expected her to come back to him (does he ever, really?) 2) He found out Emma's plan to sacrifice herself, and knew if that happened, her parents would be desperate to somehow save her. And he realized, Hey, this is a chance for me to maybe find my son. And even if Hook died, not Emma, it still works. 3) The writers are being jerks who ruined an opportunity for Rumple to have some character development in favor of making him the default bad guy again.

Yes! I completely agree. IMO it's like they love screwing over Rumple. Either way I'm not mad he's The Dark One again. I believe he's strong enough to control the darkness. Anyway since they're doing the "Underworld/Hades" arc this is the perfect time to be back Neal bcuz he's dead just like Hook.

Char Mina Last time he tried to control the darkness, it didn't end well...of course, that might have been because he tried to share a consciousness with his son, while being locked in a cage and tortured by a psychotic witch, and then had to watch his son die, and was further tortured by the aforementioned psychotic witch. It probably screwed with his priorities a little.

I still want to punch Rumple in the face for this. That being said, I can't because if he hadn't done what he did, Killian would have stayed dead, and we wouldnt have gotten the story that we all wanted. So as Killian says a couple of episodes later: "Stay of Execution".

Anyone remember when Rumple was ambiguous? Chaotic Neutral? When his powers were about his son? And don't get me wrong, I like that Rumple has priorities beyond Neal, but without seeing him justify it, it seems kind of OOC. He wanted the power to protect his son. And then he became a hero and learned how to handle cowardice. There's literally no reason for him to relapse. No obvious temptation.

When Emma threatened to tell Belle. Rumple didn't even flinch like he did when hook used that threat. So I'm assuming he told Belle and she finely gave into it, Burr in just thinking out loud. anybody else think that?

Yup. All of the darkness, litteraly all of it, is within that dagger, and Rumple, who already poisoned himself once with his own darkness, did it all over again, only far worse. This better bite him.

This is one of the reasons I didn't like Rumple. He always needs power to survive and hold over others, he couldn't accept a normal life without some type of power. He didn't want to be a coward, but constantly hid behind his magic or he tried to alter things with magic. He's selfish for the most part unless it comes to Belle or Neal. I really hated that Hook's sacrifice nearly amounted to nothing, because of him. But he was helpful in UnderBrook, and spoiler if you haven't watched: I'm sure many who disliked him were happy to see him die. Even though I didn't like his character through majority of the show, he had good parts in the last, finally living the life he always wanted with Belle...and that sad UP music showing Gideon and Belle aging and then Belle passed and he's still immortal and wants to finally rid himself of the darkness. He at least didn't go out as the beast when he passed and was reunited with Belle. I do think that it's unique that Emma's technically the only dark one who hadn't died after being unbound from the dagger and how" spoiler": Rumple was actually destined to be the savior, but his mother didn't want him to face a terrible fate and ended up becoming the evil that he was supposed to fight. She became the darkest villain(though it's up to debate since not everything about her being evil was explained or all of how her magic worked), severed Rumple's destiny which then became Emma's destiny in the future, his father became Peter Pan and was chasing people around on an eternal island killing them and converting children. Both of his parents became bad, Emma's parents were good. Rumple was cowardly and timid, Emma was independent with trust issues, Rumple gave into the darkness for revenge and power, Emma gave into the darkness to save Regina's happy ending and so on the list goes..

it makes me laugh how exactly people say Rumple in here played everyone while literally the only person who got screwed by him was just Hook and him and Hook are the enemies! you expect enemies to be huggy bear towards each other?😂 Rumple wouldn't even had to siphon the darkness if it wasn't for Hook loosing his shit and brining all of the dark ones into Storybrooke, threwing his anger on the wrong people just cause Emma turned him! he was trying to sent all of them to the underworld, it wasn't like he wanted to destroy the darkness at first, he only changed his mind in the last moments and when Rumple gave the sword to Emma, he also thought Hook is gonna use the darkness and everyone would bite the dust, he didn't know Hook is gonna change his mind! beside none of it would even happen if Emma hadn't pissed off Hook in the first place, knowing he has potential for the darkside even more than human Rumple! they create a mess by stupidity which gives Rumple see a way to reunite with his drugs(power) and he takes it! the mess is already has been created because of Emma and Hook and doesn't matter if they ended it by sacrificing, or made it worse! still they begin all of this and still say someone else is the villain!😂😂😂

1) The only one Rumple actually "betrayed" was Hook, AKA the man who spent a good 3 centuries trying to kill him and nearly killed everyone in Storybrook for the chance to do it again. Not what I'd call betrayal. 2) He could just tell his wife the truth and she'd probably be fine with it. She knows he's capable of doing good, she just needs to be around when he is. Hell, she probably would tell him to make it right. Wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't already told her. 3) Y'all wanted him to be the dark one again, well here's what happens when he becomes it. Good job fans.

+JP Gorski You seem to be forgetting that Hook actually killed himself to save everyone, Rumple included. Also the reason Hook was trying to kill him; he killed Milah and maimed Hook. Also, Rumple betrayed EVERYONE by taking back the darkness after Hook sacrificed himself and Emma had to let the love of her life go in order to get rid of the darkness forever.

JP Gorski he did betray everyone including Belle. By taking back the darkness, he betrayed belle by lying to her (again), Emma by rendering her true loves sacrifice pointless, hook by making his sacrifice pointless and the town by making sure the darkness wasn't destroyed

IWasEnchantedToMeetCaptainSwan Oh I am more than confident that Belle is in the loop on that one. Besides, it's not like Rumple isn't willing to help and you're missing a few betrayals. Emma betrayed Hook by making him a dark one instead of letting him die, Hook betrayed everyone by killing Merlin, Emma betrayed everyone by taking their memories, and Emma also betrayed Henry by manipulating his crush. If Emma had been honest with everyone in the first place, Hook would be safe and still alive. Ergo, Emma's screw up and her fault.
